From now on updates to this mod will be on request only. It is easy enough to generate a static map from any combination of modules that I made for the Dynamic Map, but the sheer number of variants is too great to maintain.
Please look at my Tamriel module for the Dynamic Map - anything available there can be put into a static map, both in full and half resolution. Then just leave a comment with your request, and I shall make the update.
Hello, thank you for all your map mod, really. I don't understand, maybe I don't enough reading, but I have already installed your other mod Tamriel module for the Dynamic Map, and, this mod, is for remplaced the others or it's a complement? Because I want soon install the TWMP Skyrim Alive mod, and I find that really confusing.
The module for Dynamic Map must be used with the mod called "Dynamic Map". It doesn't do anything by itself. By contrast, this mod here is self-contained and does not require anything else. You have to choose either Dynamic Map or this one, not both. This is explained on the mod page of TWMP Skyrim Alive under "Maps". You need to install MenuQue for both types of maps.
Hello Lena, I have the same problem as TheConquerorC, sheet of parchment without background, with only the location icons. But above all I only need a map to see Elsweyr and Valenwood, I mean I don't need Such nor Senchal because they are not installed. Is it possible? And how can you see the entire map itself without using MenuQue? 🙄
MenuQ is only required for use with Dynamic Map. This is a static map, it replaces the default in-game Cyrodiil map, so no MenuQ is needed. If I understand it correctly, you downloaded the latest version at full resolution. Try one of the versions at half resolution. Once that works, leave another comment here and tell me exactly what you want to see on the map, I shall then make one for you. Look on the page of the Dynamic Map module to see all the possible features that you could have on the map - I can easily make up a static map with any combination. All maps always have the entire Tamriel, I cannot do just Valenwood and Elsweyr. Alternatively, if you search Nexus for maps, you can find some with just Valenwood and Elsweyr, I think, and without Skyrim or Summerset Isles.
However, reading through the comments below, FabioBer reports that MenuQ worked for him. So may be some systems do require it. I don't understand why though, I don't use it. But all installations vary.
Thank you very much for your answer. I should have asked before... Really all I need is to see the whole Cyrodiil map including Elsweyr and Valenwood improved. I would also like to see the entire southern part of these two provinces. I play on a i7 computer with a 27" screen, , resolution 1920 by 1080, an Nvidia geforce1660 super. Maybe it's useful for you to lead me.
If you only want Valenwood and Elsweyr, you may be able to get away with a smaller map. Try this one: Cyrodiil Elven Map Expansion (Edition 2016). If it isn't good enough, then I'm afraid you'll need to go full Tamriel, either static or using Dynamic Map. Come back here if the other map doesn't work, we'll see. There are also older Tamriel maps which are much smaller than mine. I think your PC simply does not manage the resolution.
Oh sorry, just realised that map is also for Dynamic Map! You would have a lot more choices if you were using Dynamic Map. But if you want to stay static, have you tried one of the half resolution Tamriel maps from this mod page here?
I always had problem with dynamic map. I tried the half resolution and the problem is the same. Finally maybe I'll stay with the Cyrodiil basic map. It's not an enormeous problem to me. Thank you for your kind answer.
Hi. I just realised that indeed you need MenuQ. You don't need Dynamic Map, but if you want a bigger main map, you must have MenuQ. Otherwise indeed you are limited in size to vanilla. Sorry for the confusion!
Ok, must I install all the files from MenuQ or is it ok with only the obse pluggin? Edit : Thank you so much... it works... just hope my configuration game can handle it for a long time... You're so kind, many thanks again. 🤩
Install the whole thing. I had trouble when some of it was missing. I have also just now uploaded a static version of that Elven map with just Cyrodiil, Valenwood and Elsweyr. But yeah, you need MenuQ.
Glad it works. Let me know if you want a particular configuration of the big Tamriel map, it is really not a problem to make one. Or perhaps that Elven map will do the trick for you, it is much smaller. Enjoy!
I can travel to the Valenwood Isles, the last point I can see. I think it's ok. If one day I need to add something else, may I ask you again for that, I'm not sure yet if I'll add more locations. Edit : I just see you added a new Cyrodiil Elsw Valen card... Cool. I really like the look for this map. Thank you very much for this unexpected work you did.
Sadly Valenwood Improved - Elsweyr Anequina - New Senchal is not working for me despite trying different ways. Which is sad since need it for the TWPM mods.
That was the very first thing I did. I did it but no map shows up. In fact no map shows up at all. Its just gone with the waymarkers on just a piece of paper with no background. IDK if its a pathing issue or something.
Probably a compression issue. Some graphic cards have trouble with compression. I am going to update all maps today anyway, so I'll make sure the new version is not compressed. Check back in a few hours.
Still not working. I am using Valenwood Improved - Elsweyr Anequina - New Senchal the version 4 version atm. I am testing it out on vanilla oblivion as the only mod with it at the bottom. Instead no map at all appears and its blank sadly. I can always use the Tamriel heightmap version but its sad since yours fits perfectly for the mods I wish to install and is more graphically pleasing. Its just a shame its not working for furhter context I manually install it and put it in my NMM and then install it there. The contents of the mod are still
This sounds indeed like the map may have ended up in the wrong folder. I don't know what NMM does with it, and it doesn't matter. There's just the ESP and the map DDS file, and the structure should be as follows:
Ah that one was not due to NMM but how the zip file appears when you download it manually, regardless will it try it your way now thanks. Will report back how it goes there too.
May be the map is just too high resolution for your configuration... Sorry, I'm out of ideas. :(
If you have GIMP or Photoshop or something similar, you could try scaling down the map to see if it helps. You need to adjust the overall map dimensions in the ESP - it's under World. The cell coordinates should remain the same.
Oh wait. What is your overall game resolution? If it is below 1300x1000 or something, the game might be using a different folder. Copy the DDS map also to folders Textures\menus80\map and Textures\menus50\map.
I know you gave up on this... but just a thought: did you set texture size to large in Oblivion options? That's in game itself, select Options -> Graphics -> Texture Size. I think if it is anything less than large, you will have issues with high resolution textures, including maps.
Hello, first of all thank you for this beautiful map. I had this problem too, I installed the map with Wrye Bash and whenever I opened the map there was only a white space. Then I installed MenuQue

and now I can see the whole map. I hope this will work for you as well.
Is there any possibility to make a map with the following:
Stirk
Valenwood Improved
Sutch Reborn
Elsweyr Anequina
New Senchal
Stirk is optional for me since it is far away from the mainland, but the rest are kinda mandatory. I have been able to find the Stirk, Sutch and Elsweyr combo, but not all of these together. I would be delighted if you could make a map for these (Stirk is optional)!!
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't use Dynamic Map, as mentioned in your description, hence I resort to static maps for some help. It alright if you can't make the map, it's just an aesthetic thing anyway. As long as the fast travel markers work on any static map, I'm happy with it. Thanks for the attention!
Thanks! Morroblivion is already included. However, since it normally works in its own worldspace, it will never use the generic map. There are a couple of different patches to move Morroblivion into the Tamriel worldspace, then this map should work already. I made a module for the Dynamic Map using the same graphics, and there I also have a map variant with a differently positioned Solstheim which is apparently needed for at least one of those Morroblivion-to-Tamriel solutions. But as I haven't tested it myself yet, and haven't seen any test reports, I haven't done anything with it here.

Valenwood - Elsweyr - main folder
Textures folder - menus - map - tamriel-valenwood-elsweyr.dds
Tamriel map - Valenwood - Elsweyr.esp
With the esp still appearing in the mod despite the folder structure. Hoping you may see a reason why it may not be working.
