Did install the English language version of this mod "Weapon Expansion Pack for Oblivion Nthusiasts - Castellano" (linked from Tiinbe above) with MO2, but had a yellow star shouting "WTF Missing Texture" or something like that on screen, so decided to remove it again and game run as it should with all other texture pack like QTP3 Redimized and more Harvestable Fruit (also based on Qarl's texture).
EDIT: After checking date on the Spanish (Castellani) version and English I would say that the Spanish version is from 2018 and probably a bit dated vs the English that was updated in 2023.
Looking up that star I found out that it is an error message when texture or mesh are incorrect in some way, so it isn't a modder having fun on others expense.
The first thing I installed where the usually OUP packages for game and DLCs before this mod, so there is a conflict somewhere, but I didn't want to start wasting time on trying to figure out how to get it to work.
This guide was written for the old version of ORC (1.9.3). I removed some plugins including Trifle in the new version, didn't have time to update here on Nexus.
Suggestion to add to the ORC configuration section:
[Develop] TraceShaders=0
This makes the 'P' key open the Pipeline Detector, which can get in the way of hotkey configuration. It can also be intrusive if pressed accidentally for people who doesn't know what it is or what it's caused by. The easiest way of accidentally pressing it is naming your character, or spells.
I already installed all 3 unofficial mods and followed by texture mods, skill mods, Cm companions, and weapons, do I have to uninstall all of them to do the needed list?
Can I skip Oblivion Reloaded Combined from the needed list, and still be able to effectively accomplish your mod?
And I am not good with Mod Organizer 2, and still trying to understand Wrye Bash. Can these instructions be done in Wrye Bash?
No, you don't need to uninstall anything; just install the remaining components. You can skip ORC, but keep in mind that it includes some engine fixes that reduce stuttering (such as background asset loading, caching, shader optimizations, memory management, etc). The final result may vary for your situation so, as I haven't tested it.
You can't use Wrye Bash to install DLLs in the game root folder. Just copy them manually—they don't overwrite anything in your game folder and simply sit next to the game exe file. MO2 is listed here just for convenience; it's not a hard requirement. I've provided alternative instructions for manual installation everywhere.
Every few years I do a reinstall and am totally familiar with the ins and outs of using Wrye Bash. However, I am finding my first attempt at using MO2 to be like stepping into a tar pit of arcane instructions, I suppose mostly owing to its profile feature, which among other things makes OBSE installation very odd, and forces mods into all manner of out-of-sight folders on the C drive, where I never install games or mods of any kind.
I've recently returned to Oblivion modding myself, but am familiar with MO2 from modding Skyrim previously. I'm just hopping on the comment train to correct a couple things about MO2 in case it helps anyone else.
MO2 doesn't force you to put things anywhere - you can decide where everything goes. All of your mods should either be in the game files folder (like OBSE) or in the mods folder of your MO2 Oblivion instance. You can assign the locations for everything yourself, including each of the main directories (profiles, downloads, etc), the Oblivion instance of MO2, or even MO2's program files. Also handling OBSE with the more recent versions of MO2 should be very simple. Get the most recent version of both, follow the instructions here under the "v2.4.3 or later" section, and you shouldn't have any trouble.
One thing that tripped me up recently was that I have Oblivion installed in my Steam directory under Program Files but had also copied Oblivon's files to a second location for modding, and some things in MO2 were still pointing to the Program Files location. If you do something like this make sure to double check all your file pathways in MO2 are correct.
I can't confirm this personally yet, but a lot of the more recent opinions about the Wrye Bash vs MO2 debate I've seen are that MO2 has mostly caught up. It shouldn't be that much more difficult to use now, just maybe less familiar.
Hello, Lavallet I have an issue (That probably links to ORC, the one I'm using is ver. 1.94) where the textures glitches out whenever I move around, for example dust particles turn into cobwebs or pure white textures, normal maps would show instead of the normal textures, and sometimes they also switch. Also, when I turn ORC off, the screen turns into a mangled mash of light purple pixels moving around. Do you know a solution for this?
Edit: Also, I am not running any mods asides the ones in your guide, here's the Issue I am talking about with ORC. The ears are miscolored and the garbs has misplaced textures too.
Edit 2: I managed to fix the first problem, I don't know how but I downloaded the ENboost preset for Oblivion on Nexus and replaced some of the settings shown in the guide, then I disabled ORC.
I spent around 15 hours on bevilex modlist...did everything i was supposed to and nothing else....and the game keeps crashing all the time.
Then I said "f*#@ it, I dont need the best graphics, i just want to get the game running" and I scrapped everything and started from scratch, using this list
Now I cant even get to the menu anymore. Ctd´s wont stop. Think I just play the xbox 360 version because this is some bullshit
how to make oblivion work with reshade and with enb and with dxvk at the same time? It only works for me with dxvk and enb. i tried to dxwrapper setting load to dinput8 (renamed reshade), but reshade not working. (but log of dxwrapper says it loaded).
I've got a pretty annoying bug for melee combat. While I'm fighting, sometimes my sword's swing won't register. As in I'll be fighting something, and combat will work for a few swings, but then my sword won't swing and I won't be able to lift up my shield, any fixes?
okay, l figure out what's causing this problem now everything is working sorry for disturbing you also your guide is really useful keep up the good work

No Inventory On Alt-Tab - useless
Faster Sleep Wait - can CTD on sleep-wait
Trifle - uncompatible with ORC
Blue's Engine Fixes
Oblivion Display Tweaks
Menu Alt-Tab Crash Fix
Are useless in most cases.

Anyway, manual it is. Thanks for this guide.
