does this fix the "too tall glitch"?? that happens specifically from the actions that force you into 3rd person for an animation where you get knocked down- either from being paralyzed, or from running out of fatigue during the Kot9 quest section when you're carrying keller's curse (it's REALLY obnoxious during that part). when the game puts you back in 1st person the camera is set too high and starts clipping through the ceiling (especially in caves, etc). the character height isn't actually changed, which you can see if you switch to 3rd person, it just affects the 1st person camera, and it only happens after those specific falling-down animations.
i was browing through the description and posts and i can't really tell if this mod addresses it or not. i'm not interested in changing my character's height, i just want a permanent fix for the glitch.
Edit: as i suspected, no this mod does not fix the glitch. uninstalled.
can confirm that this mod does NOT fix the glitch. again, the glitch does not actually change the player's height/scale, it puts the 1st person camera in the wrong place after those animations. if you switch to 3rd person you can see that the height isn't changed.
idk what else to tell you, the Remaster Scaling Bug issue was pretty big and even my friends had it, once they installed this mod it fixed it for them. If it doesn't work for you, maybe you are the exeception. But it sets the scale to 1.0 (which is seperate to the actual scaling) which I detailed in the description. It has nothing to do with third or first person camera, that's all native to the game, and because of UE5 the height scale vs the native scale are conflicting. The mod fixes that part by keeping the scale value the same (1.03 x 1.0) instead of multiplying indefinitely e.g. (1.03 x 1.03, 1.03 x 1.06, 1.03 x 1.09) . This only happens after certain conditions and I fixed it by keeping the latter values as 1. I do apologise if the mod doesn't work.Once we have newer versions of OBSE, we'll have an easier time fixing these issues. I do hope you find a fix though, the bug is really annoying.
Maybe I'm missing something but after installing this it doesn't seem to do anything? I thought it was supposed to fix the issue with the player character always being the same scale regardless of race but even after running around for awhile my character is still the same size. Do I have to manually set it to where it should be and the mod just prevents it from resetting?
Unfortunately my menus get stretched even when loading into new cells. So I guess I’m just gonna have to live with manually setting scale when transitioning cells (setscale 1 and loading a new zone resets the menus if they get stretched).
If you make your character any shorter, note that the game will still consider you underwater if you swim at the surface. Not the author's problem though I don't think.
Works incredibly well during the session (no menu stretching), but loses the effect when relaunching the game. How did you set up the script to check? Do I need to wait on a certain menu?
can't seem to replicate it, for Nord (both Male and Female). Could you provide plugins list, and if you are using OBSE64 (script extender)? Would love to help out.
camera only does that when there's a mismatch between the condition flags and the set values but on my end, all of that checks out for each race.
that's the limitations of the game. We could change the collision box to become smaller but without Nifskope or other third party software, that becomes rather difficult. I can maybe replace the characters' collision box. I'll do some digging for you (no promises).
idk what's going on but it seems to work at first until i try to go below 1.03 at which point no matter what the size just keeps increasing over and over and my character becomes giant. even when i try to force player.setscale to something below that it resets itself to giant.
this mod is not compatible, i think, with this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/1875?tab=description
racial scaling that's meant to change npcs racial sizing
but even so, i was still having weird issues- selecting "decrease by .10" and it goes down instead by .01, then clicking it again and it goes up by .2, and stuff like that. i did eventually through trial and error (the decrease/increase by .01 seem to work consistently) get to where i wanted. i reloaded my save and i seemed to retain my height. thanks for this!
*edit* nvm. it's not consistent and it's messing up the menus, probably anything at all below 1 messes up the menus idk.
