Using DLSS swapper to update to latest DLSS breaks this mod. Verified by creating empty mod profile in MO2 and starting a new game with no mods installed. Reverted to original DLSS version fixed the mod. I noticed some decent performance gains by switching to newer version of DLSS. Is there some work around to make this mod work with latest or different versions of DLSS? I'll look into it myself, but I'm not a modder so I'm posting this to see if anyone else has any feedback to provide in the mean time. Not a huge deal, but ya know, thought I'd bring it up. If there's something stupid that I'm missing and ends up not being the issue I just stated, take it easy on me. I usually don't post on here, but this was pretty easy to diagnose from what I can tell.
Edit: Further testing with other mods which slow down in game time in some way produce same effect. I wish I knew where to look in game or mod files to see about making some adjustments. My best guess as a non modder with only html experience from 10 years ago is that it probably has something to do with runtime being different but where to adjust what I'm at a loss. For anyone who stumbles upon this post and may have an idea.
Update: Got everything working finally. Activate Special K, launch game through MO2, select the k or j profile in special k in the in game menu. Caveats: gotta add exe exemptions to block lists on MO2 and SKIF. MO2 doesn't play nicely with Special K. I'll elaborate if anyone ever sees and replies to this post looking for assistance, but I kind of doubt it I think I may be the only one playing this way. Only way to get the game to run decent.
Awesome- if its an easy task, would you be able to create one for the normal inventory menu too? Much appreciated if so, being able to pause and chug 50 health potions is such bad gameplay but i can't NOT do it, ya know? lol
Hey, I know the mod I uploaded got taken down, and I understand — but honestly, it really hurt. I have enough struggles in my life already, and I’ve been going through a lot of pain lately. Creating and sharing that mod gave me a small sense of joy… because I felt like I was doing something good for others. It made me happy to think that maybe someone out there could smile because of something I made. To the original mod creator — I never meant to disrespect your work. If you’re willing, maybe you could upload a version where the shortcut wheel permanently freezes time? That’s all I was trying to do. I’m not here to steal. Just trying to bring a little light, in a life that’s been feeling very heavy. 💔
Hi guys for anyone wanting to freeze time completely it is extremely simple. Just use this mod but change the 2nd line from "local slowMoSpeed = 0.1" to "local slowMoSpeed = 0.0". Now you can all be happy :)
Sorry that you have issues man, but I have them too and never stolen a mod or re-released someone elses work. I could easily edit half the mods I have used for my own tastes and re-release them but I don't. I ask the author if they can make the edits.
I have been a modder in the past, I had to deal with my mod being stolen DOZENS of times. It's probably cost me thousands of dollars over the years.
There are many mods released after mine that improved what I did and to me, that is fine. Clearly many of them tore my mod apart to learn from it - which isn't stealing and I am fine with that. People wanna learn.
So continue to learn, but try not to steal. Good luck with your life and I hope you keep modding - but be more creative and ask for permissions and give credit where it is due!
This is really gross to read, what's with all the sappy woe as me stuff? You stole from someone. What does whatever you're going through have to do with anything that is being discussed here about you appropriating someone else's work without permission? Go ahead and shed light based on your own work, I wouldn't steal from you and then try to appeal to the emotions of the person I stole from. For God's sake have some dignity. "I'm not here to steal," listen don't waste words. You did steal, it doesn't matter what you say you're here for or say you're not here for. This is literally just like two paragraphs of you indirectly talking around the fact that you tried to be sneaky and steal someone's work. Reading this made me blush, that's how embarrassed I was for the situation I'd try to apologize to the modder for taking their work, and just do it directly, without a bunch of excuses. My life's really hard to, and you might not know this but so is everyone else's.
To be fair a mod accomplishing the same thing, in the same way, was released a day before this one. Emotional blackmail aside. I'm not sure if we can distinguish between the kid who essentially made a patch and uploaded his work, and the mod author who had the same idea and execution as the previous one.
Slow Motion Shortcuts by WinterElfeas came out on 4/26. This one came out on 4/27 but became more popular.
The right thing to do would have been for Asafyasso to DM the mod author and ask if they can create the patch they wanted, then upload. We don't need to crucify the kid even if they put their foot in their mouth. Its very possible that everyone came up with the same concepts at the same time to upload similar or even the same modifications for a game that's been out for nearly 20 years, and just remastered which includes many of the same issues the original had.
I’d kill for as many additional slots as possible. Or like two separate shortcut wheels, one with 1-8 like normal and another shortcut wheel with like shift-1 to shift-8 or something
As a note, if you are using this with any effects that tick those don't slow down. As a result, to keep yourself from cheesing encounters, do not slow down time when a DoT is on an enemy. (I use a 10dam for 10sec elemental spell a lot. I can slow time and melt things if I'm not disciplined about not using the wheel when it's active.)
It's a GREAT mod that I think should be a base part of the experience, but it does have this side-effect.
Yeah both Slow-mo wheel mods seem to share this issue as well as everything outside of player health/stamina/magicka regen is more or less treated the same as in real time. As a controller user the positives far outweigh the negatives (especially with longer conjuration times mods so my early game scamp doesnt despawn while im tying to heal) but it is a big exploit with the poison strat....
Not sure if this is fixable or maybe a UI bug, but if there are active spell effects on a timer, the timer counts down at the same rate as if time was passing at a normal speed (at least if the UI effects and the timer bars are to be believed). I think as well, effects that regen stamina/hp/magicka like potions or spells will regenerate at a normal rate during the time slow.
