Thanks for this mod, the bodies look so much better. I am just wondering what settings you saved your normal map edits with? I'm trying to make some face retextures that will pair nicely with this mod, but I keep getting shiny/wet looking faces once I package the normal maps.
The guy is saying the huge bumps and scales look more realistic during regular gameplay because you don't look at them up close, and smoothing them out causes "detail loss" because people are no longer as brutally textured which makes their skin stop standing out. On faces I agree that the default texture actually does look more detailed in regular gameplay. Bodies still look weird.
It's up to you if you like how they took 10x zoomed images of skin and applied that to the zoomed out view instead, and want people to look more detailed even if the details are heavily exaggerated. No problem
Problem is TAA+ low res+upscaling... This mod could look worse for some people in game then default skin if they are running into TAA/Low Res/Upscaling loss of detail. TAA results in detail loss almost equal to a full one level downgrade in res, 1440p looks like 1080p. All of Remastered textures have exaggerated height maps to make up for TAA loss of detail.
Yeah plus I wouldn't call gaussian bluring entire bodies with camera filter effects realistic. No ones putting on tons of foundation and makeup as you go out adventuring life and death.
I disagree. This texture replacer made my dunmer look her age, where despite maxing the slider in creation to the young side (left) she still looked about 50 and had creases and stuff I didn't like. This fixed it. Now she looks the general age I chose. And the loss of the perma-goosebumps texture for the body is not missed!
@Citrus I mean, I'm 28 and I definitely don't have the skin of a turtle that wandered through the desert too long.
Plus it's so obviously tiled. Like, you can see diagonal lines of "warts" / pimples, it's absurd. It isn't like this mod is doing the featureless anime skin thing.
@citrus I hear what you're saying, I think you're right to a degree, irl -skin *does* look like! that texture-wise, however I think the application was a bit skewed and so the natural skin texture is a little too enlarged and looks almost like paint on a basketball/orangefruit/wall? The texture the game provides would look more like skin if it was "smaller" not so enlarged. I'm 30 (black so it doesnt really crack) and my skin does look like that with a magnifying glass, but I really think the author of this mod enhanced the quality and kept it realistic enough.
I dont think the vanilla looks like eczema, it just looks like a macro skin texture when it should be scaled down a bit.
I'm 53 this month and my skin is pretty much what it was in my 20s , stress is what ages us most and i've had a acute case of the fuckits since I was born . Even the young skin in this game looks older than me , but at least it's better than the skin in Starfield . Rain doesn't make your skin look like garbage , and make your face and body 2 very different shades .
@Citrus333 bro wtf you doing if you skin looks like this, I'm 30 never done skincare in my life and compared to that my skin looks like one of a newborn baby
I wish someone would make a nude mod, where the body types are left vanilla. When you loot there clothes they should not be wearing underwear & bra. If someone did that. It would be the most popular mod on here. Anyways your mod rocks

Next mods coming soon, including reworked 4K/8K character body textures.
There's a reason that devs made skin texture look that way.
But in actual gameplay, the mod makes the skin so smoothed out with less detail.
Screenshots don't reflect what you see in gameplay.

Great mod, Endorsed!

No as someone who works in a clinic, thats untrue. If your skin looks like this, you should see a derm.
"Hooray! Fee-utile!"
