is  this tested thoroughly does it break scaling? if you are starting at no skills wouldnt you level up extremely fast and then cause all monsters to be scaled higher ?

Hey, cheers for this mod, I like starting from a lower outset and feel the progression!
Only comment I have on it is that I think it'd be nice to see luck start at 50. Not sure how easy that would be to do, but it's the only option I'd love to see. Again, thanks for the mod [:

+1 to this. Luck below 50 causes all other stats to have a hidden -4 penalty for every 10 fewer luck points.

I'm not caught up on Oblivion's leveling system. Does this still allow you to eventually max all attributes? Does this in any way change the possible level cap?

This mod does not prevent you in any way from maximizing an attribute, only extend the amount of levels needed to do it. Only using the masochist version or the version that removes all starting skills would change the level cap. Lower starting attributes on its own doesn't interact with the leveling system at all, only reducing starting skills would do that.

They asked if this allowed us to max all attributes, which I believe it does. The level cap is the same due to skill levels being unchanged. However, we start with fewer attributes and can only get the same amount of attribute points. You may need to go to Jail to lower your skill levels, then re-level to further increase your attribute points.

I'm hoping for a mod (maybe it already exists) that allows us to "reset" our skills to increase our maximum level, like in the Skyrim DLC.

Possible to get an option that just removes starting skill bonuses? Racials too? I've always wanted to do a run where my character is perfectly average and grows into a champion. Everything starts at 5, or 0 if that's even possible.

will have to try because I'm at the 3rd restart and I just did a custom class with specializion and major skills all on stuff I never use and I'm still leveling too quickly
checked a build planner for original oblivion you can have 100 attribute at lv8...seriously ? what about the 300hours of game left to do ?

I feel like lowering the Strength can lead to a potential issue of NPCs being overencumbered

This mod only affects the starting attributes for the player, it does not affect npcs in any way.

Thanks Sasquatch678, prob the best mod on O.R. Nexus - endorsed.

jFYI, this mod still works if you used a character model/preset from a separate mod on Nexus (for example, this one), given the preset you used has a save prior to leaving the Sewer Gates.  As long as you change one attribute (can be any, or multiple) - the lower starting attributes will kick in.

I’m unable to replicate this. It’s possible you selected a birthsign that boosts specific attributes and are getting confused, are loading someone else’s save file uploaded here and calling it a new game, or there is another mod you are using which conflicts and is overwriting mine, or failed to install the mod correctly.

I don't want to do a version where everything is the same for all races but how about this:

Each race has a baseline of 20 in an attribute. For each race/origin 2 attributes get a +5 boost to 25 and 2 attributes get a -5 penalty to 15.
