Remaster is basically an original game with unoptimized unreal engine visuals. Skyblivion will be ok because it's more of a revision than remaster. It will have its own niche.
Just to set the record straight, the Skyblivion team and Bethesda are on really good terms and Bethesda even sent the Skyblivion team free game keys to the remake so they could play it for free. Massive goodwill between the two parties and the Skyblivion team currently plans to keep on rolling toward their projected release timeframe of sometime this year.
Skyblivion will likely still drop, and still be very popular, as it will be compatible with the enormous selection of mods available for Skyrim. Including... those mods.
Those poor guys. All that time, that could have been spent doing... so much... All that effort, blood, sweat and tears. I'm sure some will keep at it, as this isn't Skyblivion. I'm sure there are many people that want to play oblivion IN the skyrim engine (not engine, you know what I mean) and will continue until it's complete. But 2/3rd would have quit. I feel bad for them. So, I'll be using this to remember them!

I used to be an adventurer like you but then I took a Horse Armour DLC to the knee.
...but I hope they finish it because I would still play it and mod it.
