  2. I think there's something really off about the magic leveling like some people have already commented and you've included in the disclaimer.

I've just done the arena questline and a few Ayleid ruins and I'm in the middle of the Kvatch quest just before storming the castle keep.

My Destruction is already at 100 which just cannot be, it's completely ridiculous that I'd already max out the skill as a spell sword character.

Also obviously they've made it so all skills level your character instead of only the major skills which is also annoying.

Hopefully we can address this soon, for me it completely defeats the purpose of playing if within 15h of playtime I've already mastered a skill that I'm not using 100% of the time.
Total clown stuff, they should have left it as it was, no reason to mess with the leveling system. The entire experience of playing the game changes, you could take it slow and feel the progression in the original, now you become OP too fast and there's nothing around to challenge me, I just blast through entire mobs. A shameful display.

They changed it so that the more magicka a spell costs, the more it levels your skill. That in itself is not necessarily a bad change but it is definitely overtuned. There is a mod that was made recently by Zerkish to make spellcasting skills specifically level slower by changing the linear multiplier, but that also means it will be much slower to level at low levels since you won't have access to high magicka spells.

This mod cannot possibly be working as intended. I just went from level 9 to 10 by making 30 potions. One single skill leveled me up to level 10 from 9. That cannot be right. The balance is completely off, there's no way this mod is functioning.

Thank you for this! Would you be able to more precisely explain, for each skill, what the value is that is being altered and what it's being changed to and from? I presume this mod isn't touching the fSkillUseMinor, fSkillUseMajor or fSkillUseFactor settings?

pretty sure you're wrong about magic skill gain being unchanged. I made a whole mod about this before (and another similar one), so I recall quite distinctly that magic only gained 1xp * schoolMult per spell cast in the original oblivion; whereas I noticed that in the remake you definitely get way more exp for casting more expensive spells than cheap ones. (similarly, mercantile seems to level off of gold value, rather than the old 1xp-per-transaction rules.)

I'm tearing my head out trying to figure out a way to either undo this change in the remaster or tone it down, the level increases at higher levels are insane. You go from 90-100 in literally minutes.

Do you think porting your old mod with the customizability that comes with it would be possible with OBSE64 for the remaster?

What if I used this mod with Faster (And Slower) Skill Levelling - Custom Experience Multiplier for magic?
I'm just trying to get to the same leveling speed as classic oblivion.

Sounds like a skill issue... weird you felt the need to make this comment though.

I appreciate seeing comments like this because I've never played Oblivion so if it was nothing but positive comments I would think that's just the consensus that the old slower version is better

I'd love to get this mod, but I've got one concern: is it safe to start using mid-playthrough? I'm at level 19 and really don't want to start a new character. This mod looks to be just what I'm looking for.
