About this mod

Disable the forced UE5 LumenRT to gain additional performance on lower-end hardware and handheld devices, such as the Steam Deck.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This mod disables the forced Lumen lighting system in the UE5-powered Oblivion Remaster, giving your rig (or your Steam Deck) a much-needed breather. Whether you’re roaming the Gold Coast or diving into Oblivion gates, you’ll now enjoy fewer slowdowns and more glorious frames per second.

Perfect for:
  • Potato PCs 🥔
  • Steam Deck adventurers 🧙‍♂️

LUMEN BEGONE! – Because Cyrodiil doesn’t need raytraced god rays to be divine.

Now also available as an additional version, bundled with P40L0’s Ultimate Engine Tweaks.
Check out the files section – and please don’t forget to thank P40L0 and endorse the original mod!
Big thanks to P40L0 for granting permission to bundle his tweaks with mine!

Instructions:
Place the engine.ini file in the right folder.

Game Pass Version:
.../Documents/My Games/Oblivion Remastered/Saved/Config/WinGDK/

Steam Version:
.../Documents/My Games/Oblivion Remastered/Saved/Config/Windows/

On Steam Deck:
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2623190/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Oblivion Remastered/Saved/Config/Windows/

You can make the file read-only, if you want to prevent any changes by the game.

Alternatively, just change/add the following lines in your existing engine.ini:
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=0

[ConsoleVariables]
r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=0
