Just wanna leave this comment here... I have an ASUS TUF F15 4GB VRAM 3050ti... I was running at 30/40fps through the intro sewers and reached the open world and dipped to 9fps. I download this mod after hours messing with settings myself and bam.... 70fps in the open world. Thank you so much for this dude. Just wow....
All the other mods and fixes failed to work. All but this one. I can run this game on about 45-60 FPS outdoors with a 3050-laptop graphics card and only 4 gigs of vram. Thank you so much!
I just came here to say, from a deep slumber of not posting anything since like 10y back, that THIS MOD DID WONDERS FOR MY FPS!! NO STUTTER, NO LAGS!! Awesome. Gtx 1660 Ti btw
This is very nice for performance, but the mod enables screen space reflections on my game and those look terrible in this game, changing the SSR setting in the game's menu doesnt change the SSR anymore. Do someone know what variables I can change in the Engine.ini file to remove SSR?
It's absolutely DISGUSTING that you need this! I dont need FSR/Frame Gen anymore to get 60fps! If i do turn it on i get 100+! Im using a R7 3800X + RX 6700XT. You CANNOT use Upscaling in this game it causes REALLY REALLY BAD ghosting and the without Frame Generation its pushing 15-30ms response times!!! once u turn on FG its down to 8-10ms. "POTATO PC!!! Get a job you bum! Gaming is for the 1% you poors"people who say that crap have had to face absolute ZERO adversity in life and they wonder why 57% of Gen Z supports Communism. LMFAO anyways, thanks alot for this man! UNREAL ENGINE 5 IS TRASH!!!
thats insane, how do you guys know what codes to use in that ini file? their is a whole bunch other than the 4 lines you said to put in the bottom of the description. I did that and it was causing people to get all stretched out. So I just put your .ini file into my folder instead and it works alot better but how do you know what codes you put into the ini file? Are you a programmer or somthing? Maybe you could work for Epic Games since whoever is designing Unreal Engine now clearly doesnt know what they are doing.
After about a hour of testing I can confirm that this mod is 100% causing NPCs to stretch out of watck like this. thats a real bummer because it does make the performance playable. If you ask at what cost? This is the cost... :(
-UPDATE- I just want everyone to know what caused that stretching was because I had this mod (- Optimized Tweaks OBLR - Reduced Stutter Improved Performance Lower Latency Better Frametimes https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/79 ) installed as well and I said hmm I wonder if thats causing it, Well I removed it and so far so good! Will update in a while after more testing!
-UPDATE- I just wanted to post a side by side of with this mod on vs off here. I havent tested this in Deadlands or any area with neon bright lighting. Just right here. Mod OFF (Lumen ON)
Mod ON (Lumen OFF)
under leaves and under neath stuff is pitch black its really noticable in the wilderness and inside areas with alot of buckets and stuff leaning up on walls, inside of peoples legs at dusk...just certain areas that would cast a dark shadow. At the end of the day its all about what you can tolerate I guess?
Bro I have a 13600 + 7900XT and still get stuttering, pop in textures, and low framerate on 1440p/high. I've seen dudes with 4090s hit 60fps in Kvatch on 1440p/native. It's a joke. The people telling you to get a job or a new PC have no idea what they are talking about. UE5 simply isn't optimized and the lighting/lumen/RT is just a meme so that card manufacturers can push more expensive GPUs. BTW you don't want communism no matter how bad it gets. I'm saying this as someone whose family escaped a former communist country. If you wanna do something, start complaining to devs and stop buying their games. It works.
Yeah I've seen the stretching a few times and don't have any other mods. The shimmering is annoying too which can't be fixed without turning global illumination to low but doing so makes the game look so bad. If these got fixed it'd be the perfect mod :)
Man, really amazing...the only downside I saw is that now I have a lot of shimmering in the closest trees(the ones far away are normal)...but I got 10-15 fps outside (from 45 do 57)
I bless you for all my life, you are the true God from Oblivion Remaster!! Thank's for show how to modify the engine.ini, it's less intrusive than using vortex. I have a 2060 strix (not super, only 6Gb), was playng around 30 FPS, and now 60+FPS and with more margin to improve the graphic configs! Note: In my GPU DLSS in performance mode is better than FSR
indeed huge thanks. Tinkered with settings and try few mods but nothing helped then noticed at 1 video the guy said that weird that lumen cant be turned off i thought that must be it why cant i run this game with R7 5800x and RTX 3070ti. Now can start enjoying this game
Did anybody else notice heavy shadow flickering in some tufts of grass, when disabling Lumen? I even have Shadows on High, but it has no influence on the flickering on those small bush like grass tufts.
Is this fixable? (Maybe by preventing grass to have shadows .. or ambient occlusion.)
So this "Global Illumination" is "Ambient Occlusion", right? Now it would be great, if there was a way to have it enabled for everything expect the foliage.
Ok. Just made a direct comparison. Disabling Lumen definetly leads to heavy flickering on foliage-shadows in trees and certain tufts of grass.
Normal grass does not have those shadows. But some tufts (or small "bushes") have.

Not sure, what's going on here. With Lumen enabled the shadows just do not seem to exist (so they can't flicker). We need a way to disable those foliage-shadows, when Lumen is disabled.
I have that problem too, with XESS and FSR it's really visible. Without res scaling it still occurs, but less. Have You found any solution to flickering grass?

I think the visuals actually improved, both indoors and outdoors, in addition to the shimmering being gone.

Thanks for giving me back my fps lol

With Lumen enabled the shadows just do not seem to exist (so they can't flicker).
We need a way to disable those foliage-shadows, when Lumen is disabled.
@HerrTiSo
Do you have an idea?
There has to be a way to just disable it completely.
Edit:
@Kaleber got the solution.
Putting "Global Illumination" on low disables ambient occlusion, which removes the flickering.
Now of course it would be even nicer, if there was a way to have it enabled for everything else but the foliage.
