Thanks for this mod. These walking NPC's are utterly annoying, especially since player speed doesn't match with them, either too fast or too slow. And having NPC walk some long distances in wilderness is just pesky. So again, thank you very much.

I'm pretty sure you can just fast travel from Hacckdirt without needing to escort Dar-Ma.

Here's one you missed... Aldos Othran from the Corruption and Conscience quest.

I was going to make this suggestion. I wish I either walked the same pace as the NPC or they Ran normally. Thank god for modders.

Installing this on Steam version via Vortex causes my game to crash on startup, and works again only after I verify integrity of the files.

Vortex is bugged and causes crashes.

And I think I figured out why.
Vortex messes up the Plugin.txt file - more precisely the original order of .esp files, but also has some additional and some missing entries.

After I fixed it things started working, and any new mod now get's correctly added at the end of the file.

Yeah I noticed that too. Wasn't sure if its just for this mod.
But from now on I will just manually put the mods in the game files. Just to be safe.

Vortex sorts load order alphabetically for some people. The original Plugin load order is as follows, with any mods loaded last:
      Oblivion.esm
      DLCBattlehornCastle.esp
      DLCFrostcrag.esp
      DLCHorseArmor.esp
      DLCMehrunesRazor.esp
      DLCOrrery.esp
      DLCShiveringIsles.esp
      DLCSpellTomes.esp
      DLCThievesDen.esp
      DLCVileLair.esp
      Knights.esp
      AltarESPMain.esp
      AltarDeluxe.esp
      AltarESPLocal.esp
      yourmods.esp

Nodnarbo// I mean, what he said is technically true, he figured it out how to fix it. Doesn't mean he found it first

delete AltarESPLocal.esp from the plugins.txt file. It's a dev only tool that breaks a lot of mods right now

Just to say to others, this just isn't true.
I've had zero issues using Vortex and have about 30 plugins loaded so far.

Obviously, if Vortex is sorting things wrong then it will cause issues, but as long as you load things in an appropriate order you shouldn't have problems.

Does the reduced.esp just make them slower or?

I would love a slower version! I just want something kinda in between this and vanilla. I just started my first playthrough, and MAN do those guys run quickly

"Unfriendly Competition" is another mission where the 2 NPCS you have to follow around the Imperial Palace walk for like forever.

      Seconding this post.

Granted, the first NPC shouldn't have a reason to run to his own house (Other than a suspicious player following them, lol)

    Suggestion for adding NPCs
Quest - A Shadow Over Hackdirt
    NPCs: Dar-Ma, Blossom
Note: Blossom is a horse that Dar-Ma rides

    Quest - Ambush (Mage Questline)
    NPCs: Thalfin, Merete, Iver
