Is there a reason this is an OBSE plugin when there is a ue4ss game setting for this?

Is this for those who dont want to use game settings?

Am just curious as it seems a lot simpler doing this through ue4ss

EDIT: Im not sure how it works exactly, but the difference between this being an OBSE plugin vs OBSE plugin game setting

So are you going to tell us how to do that or are you just gonna leave us all clueless? I can't find any setting to configure item degradation.

OBSE is far more stable that UE4SS at the moment.

How is it different from modified game settings fDamageToArmorPercentage and fDamageToWeaponPercentage?

Can confirm. Had my chainmail break in a single hit from an enemy hammer.

Edit: Fixed. The OBSE version works.

if you are using vortex, simply right click and open it in file manager, then navigate to equipbreakage.ini and edit with notepad.

      [Settings]
      ; Multiplier for durability damage
      ; Examples:
      ; 0   = no durability loss
; 0.5 = durability decreases at half the normal rate
      ; 1   = default durability loss
; 2   = durability decreases twice as fast
      DurabilityMultiplier=0.0

change the DurabilityMultiplier=0.0 to your preferred setting. for example i have mine set at 0.3

A bit confused. Do I need OBSE for the ASI version? Because it won't let me download without it.

So, Ultimate ASI Loader (dsound.dll), OblivionEquipmentNoBreak.asi and equipbreakage.ini go into "\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64"? That's it?

With a lot of other posters, I'm not sure this is actually working.

Perhaps there is some sort of conflict happening, but I will have fights where 3 pieces of armor break in seconds. Nobody is casting disintegrate armor. Necromancer hits me with a drain health or skill spell, and booom by the time it's dead, boots legs and gloves all broken. Fully repair, next enemy does the same thing.

The log is generating, saying it's installed, loaded and presumably working.

Just fought a single draegoth. Level 19. 0.33 break rate. First hit broke a piece of armor. Finished the battle with broken boots and broken chest, it hit me 3 times. Helmet at 75%.

You can save before you get hit and remove/install the mod to compare.
Also, a lot of people complaining, possibly some vanilla bug https://www.reddit.com/r/oblivion/comments/1k5kijs/why_does_armour_break_so_fast/

This appears to be a bug/problem with armour rating and the Shield spell/enchantment/effect. Since item damage seems to be based on your armour rating, the higher your armour rating and/or Shield's effect magnitude, the faster your armour breaks. And if you're running a tanky blunt weapons build with skill rank of Journeyman or higher, you're screwed.

This explains a lot. i started a new build using the lord sign and alteration shield magic. my light armor broke crazy fast so i went looking for this mod. gonna put it on 0.2. i really hope it works.

Not working, two pieces broke after one fight and sword went from 100 to 75. lvl12, 35 armor rating, journeyman light armor. gonna try to disable degration completly with a different mod

Just tried v2.0 2.1 2.2 and 2.3. None worked or even generated the log file.
      Using OBSE64 v0.1.0

Looking at the days folks started reporting this not working I'm wondering if the OBSE64 patch released on the 28th is the cause of this not working.

Are you starting game through obse64_loader.exe?
OBSE update changed nothing except folder structure.
More likely you just not starting game properly or just put mod at the wrong location.

Using OBSE as well as helping another mod author troubleshoot their OBSE and UE4SS dependent mod via the UE4SS GUI console. So definitly starting it correctly. Tried the mod manager installs as well as manual installs. Log file never gets created so it isn't loading at all.

Welp, can't reproduce. Just use ASI version then.

Mod Manager ASI deployement doesn't work either - looks like you are dropping the files two directories up.

When manually installing ASI version I can confirm it works.

There is an instruction how to install ASI version, and nowhere written to install it through the mod manager. The location depends on game version, so it's not viable to install through mod manager.

@root1 - Thanks for this mod. Has worked great for me. In fact my repair hammers are piling up! I was carrying around 30 hammers on me and going through them left and right, I reduced that to 10 with this mod.. and even at that, with another mod to spawn more hammers I really never refilled. I didn't want to lose the repair thing so I set it to .2 and it made a huge difference. Thanks again.
