My guy is just way too fast still. Not the sprint but the full stick running is way too fast like playing Doom just gliding all over. I don't think it was like this last version I used. I am using the better horses mod and see the horse is trotting faster and with a messed up animation than when sprinting. Maybe these mods conflict or something but how to get my run,not sprint, speed to be normal?
edit; also we don't need to add the mods to the plugin.txt anymore?
It’s because I had to put the value back to vanilla speed as people were complaining. You go really fast in vanilla, just lower the value to your liking. 2.2 global speed feels nice.
Has anyone had the issue of walking forward slowly, and when you slowly look up at a wall or something, you stop moving forward? If so, has anyone found a fix for this? I was having issues with this prior to adding this mod (which this mod has been a god-sent for movement speed), but I'm still wanting to move forward slowly while slowly looking up (like I can in Skyrim), but I'm having difficulty doing so.
I'm on PC (Steam version), using an Xbox Series X controller. I've already tried enabling the Steam input, as suggested by others. I've tried to adjust the deadzone, as posted by someone else. I've tried disabling Steam while playing.
Is there any chance this mod could be expanded to remove the deadzone on the analogue Aim? It feels like the first 20pct of my stick or so is deadzone and so far you are the only modder to even mention deadzone in a mod at all!
This will only work on Steam (Might work on other platforms if you add it as a "Non-Steam game" but unsure if running the game through the OBSE exe affects that). Doesn't cause any issues or weirdness in playing with a controller, except for one easily fixed tiny issue I'll talk about further down.
>Open Steam. >Turn on your controller. >Click Oblivion Remastered in your library. >Click "View Controller Settings" on the right. >Click "Enable Steam Input" if that option appears. >Click "Edit Layout". >Click "Joysticks".
The Next steps you'll have to do separately for each stick (if you care about deadzone on the left stick anyway), we'll use the right stick as an example.
>Click the cogwheel next to "Right Stick Behavior". >Scroll down to the "Deadzone" section or click "Deadzone" on the left.
The first section defaults to 0-88 with a "Circle" style deadzone for me, I didn't touch these.
>Toggle "Show Advanced Deadzone Options". >Set "Anti-Deadzone" to 7500. >Set "Anti-Deadzone Buffer" to 3000.
The final section for "Outer Ring" defaults to 2500, off, and off respectively for me, I didn't touch these either.
>Readjust in-game sensitivity accordingly. I had to drop mine from 90 on both to 70 Horizontal and 65 Vertical. I usually keep both of these the same number but Anti-Deadzone caused a bit of mismatch between these two sensitivities in-game, so the difference is necessary here for me personally. This is the tiny issue mentioned above.
Feel free to play around with these settings until it feels right for you. The steps are identical for the left stick, just make sure to click the cogwheel next to "Left Joystick Behavior" to edit that one, I personally used these exact setting for both sticks along with V2 of this mod.
I haven't found anyone talking about how to fix this and kinda stumbled upon this fix on accident so I will probably repost this somewhere for more people to see, along with a link back to this mod. @WinterElfeas can feel free to pin this comment so people don't keep asking him to fix this issue with a mod.
thanks for the mod, but I found a problem when I activate this mod, it disables my keyboard walk with the keyboard my character just run and not walk anymore, even setting another key in the settings or use the 2 keyboard and control I tried change in ini to activate keyboard, but the floor gliding back to the controler does the mod only work for one or the other? not both?
I like this mod a lot but having to close the game and edit the lua to switch between keyboard and controller isn't it.
The game knows when a controller is being used vs a keyboard and mouse because it changes the ui to reflect the current input. Is there any way to use that to change the keyboard variable in realtime?
I stream my games to my handheld quite a bit and trying to edit that lua file on a 7" touchscreen is gonna be quite difficult.
mod works great! could you possibly leave the vanilla speed values in the discription? v2.0 feels too fast on foot, Ive been messing around with the lua script but I just cant figure out which are the vanilla values
Installed this, playing with a controller and it feels amazing. Changed the global speed value you recommended to 2.2 but it feels like the character is never "running" if that makes sense? It's just walking faster. Is that because of deadzone or is 2.2 probably too low?

somehow, this mod breaks when frame gen (FSR FG on my 3080) is enabled. any kind of movement is stuttering really badly, while FPS stay the same.
nevermind, it works now after switching from borderless to fullscreen and back.
