Description

Adds a chance for various outlaw characters to wear hoods. This makes them look more villaneous and makes more sense considering they're meant to be evil.

Bandits, Highwaymen, and Marauders now have a chance to wear lower class hoods (which are otherwise incredibly rare in the vanilla game). Vampires also commonly wear Black Hoods, and Black Bow Bandits will always wear Black Hoods to differentiate them from other bandits.

Not only does this make sense and add some more visual variety to the game, it also helps cover up the fact that there's only a small pool of faces for each actor type. It could also be considered a sort of fix for the aforementioned rarity of lower class hoods too. In the Remaster, it helps cover up some of the hairstyles that look like they are from a bad hair mod for the OG Oblivion...

Optionally, there's a second file, which also adds a chance of hoods for Conjurers and Necromancers. This file is optional, however, since the vanilla game uses hoods to denote 'boss' characters for these factions (Conjurer/Necromancer Adepts).

Installation

  • Navigate to your Steam\SteamApps\common folder.
  • Add the .esp file in the download to the \Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data folder.
  • Open the plugins.txt file in the \Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data\ folder.
  • At the bottom of the file, add the line Hooded Outlaws.esp

Uninstallation

Reverse the above steps.

Compatibility

This mod changes a lot of actor records, so I suggest you check for conflicts and make patches if needed using xEdit. Hopefully we'll get better support for the Remaster soon to help with this...
