the download has two .ini files, what are the differences between the two, Engine_Balanced and NBC_Legendary_Oblivion_Godz_Mode ? which one should I use?
Try both files and see which one gives you better performance. Balanced = stable FPS for most setups. Godz_Mode = ultra visuals + max tweaks (may drop FPS on lower-end rigs). I can't know your specs, so test and choose what works best for you
Nope – even in Godz_Mode, godrays/sunshafts/lensflare are disabled to avoid performance issues and visual glitches. The "ultra visuals" refer to texture streaming, shadow range, LODs, and lighting precision – not post-processing effects like sunshafts. Basically: it looks cleaner, but still prioritizes FPS over flashy rays 😉
Yes, the patch disables most of the advanced lighting effects, including sunshafts and sunrays, as part of improving performance. The goal is to reduce GPU load and eliminate stutters caused by post-processing effects like Lumen, bloom, and volumetric fog. So yeah – no more dramatic sunbeams, but smoother gameplay.
For me, i didnt find any of the 2 paths. The path that worked for me was: C:\Users\userName\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows
Not so sure this is the file we need. Have the same issue here, none of 2 paths provided exists. But the file found inside Saved\Config doesn't look like it.
UPD: I've tested it out and doesn't really seem like editing this file makes any changes. Did you get any improvements by editing this file?
Depending on your system and install method, the folder path might be different – for some people it’s Saved\Config\Windows, for others it’s WindowsClient, and in some cases even another name. If editing the file doesn’t seem to change anything, you can try this: – Restart the game after editing (sometimes changes only apply after relaunch) – Check if the game is overwriting the file on launch – Set Engine.ini to "read-only" after editing It works for me and for many others, so it’s likely a file location issue or the game replacing the config. Let me know if you want help step-by-step
Yes, the patch disables Ray Tracing-related features – including Lumen and dynamic reflections. In short: less fancy lighting, more stable FPS. Just how it should be. 🔧🎯
I have no idea why you have it like that, although this folder must be somewhere, because there are configurations about the game, you can try to type "engine.ini" in the windows search engine and see if any folder pops up. I have no more ideas, from the sources I know that either the folder will be in appdata in local, or I have it in my documents in my games.
More of a quick question than anything... do you know how it's working on a laptop RTX 4060 (I will test it anyways but figured I would ask) but the real question is if anyone has tried to use this on the ROG ALLY X with hopefully good news.
Hey! I'm not sure what you mean, but all the files and install info are in the mod description – or in the comments, someone already asked the same thing. Hope that helps! 😊
sure, i have all to high, sync off motion blur off anti allasing dlss dlaa Plus my custom Engine.ini tweaks to boost FPS and fix Lumen stutters. That’s where the real magic happens 😉

means it has godrays/sunrays/lensflare/sunshafts enabled too ?
