Q. I can't locate the right path where to paste the Engine.ini A. Just copy/paste this path in Windows File Explorer nav bar (upper part) if you have Game Pass version:
and when you hit enter you will end up in the correct folder where to put the Engine.ini DO NOT mistake OneDrive Documents folder with the local User's Documents folder (which is the correct one you need to open)
Q. My CPU usage is skyrocketing to 100% after the mod A. This is initial shader compilation which may continue in-game even after the initial precompilation loading screen. Wait 4-5 minutes at max to let the game finish it and CPU usage will return normal
Q. I have noticeable ghosting A. To improve ghosting I highly recommend updating the game's DLSS .dlls to latest DLSS4 version (easiest method: DLSS Swapper) and force the "Latest" DLSS preset (Currently: K) via NVIDIA Profile Inspector or NVIDIA App. It will make an huge difference for the better. Also always use the latest version of the mod.
Q. I have the same or worse performance after the mod A. For super high-end PCs the performance difference may be small but you should still notice reduced stuttering, more consistent 1% lows, the lower input latency and better visual clarity. For mid and low-end PCs the fps difference may be much bigger on top of all that. If for some specific PC configurations (hardware and/or software) you end up with worse performance (even after the game will stabilize after shaders compilation) just delete my Engine.ini and on next boot the game will recreate its default one with default UE configuration. You don't need to verify the game files or reinstall it to restore it to what it was before the mod.
Q. Will this mod downgrade visuals/graphics? A. No :) "Lossless" means this mod was created with the goal to optimize everything I could in Unreal Engine without sacrificing visuals and/or altering your in-game graphics' choices (except for Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain removal which you can still revert back by changing their described lines within the Engine.ini itself)
Q. Can I use it together with Oblivion Optimiser, Oblivion Ultra+, Oblivion "Uber-Tweaks" or whatever? A. No. Don't mix my Engine.ini with other mods which will do their own optimization tweaks to the engine or they may conflict with each other. You can try each of them separately and choose the one which performs the best for you and only use that exclusively. You can still install any other "non-optimization" mods.
Q. Will this Engine.ini disable Achievements? A. Straight and simple: no. :)
Q. Will this Engine.ini work/load also with future game patches? A. Yes. Just be sure that you've set the file to "Read-only"
Diese ini ist ohne funktion! Sobald FrameGen über die NVIDIa App aktiviert wird ensteht der Fehler. Also Frame Gen auslassen, und auf einen Patch warten!
One of the main reasons people are not seeing any difference with this amazing mod is that they are not saving the Engine.ini file as 'read only'. I mistakenly did this at first.
i went from every single setting on low and getting 12-25 FPS and stutters like CRAZY to a consistent 60 FPS, every setting on high, almost maxed FOV, and smooth as butter gameplay. oh and reshade up the ass
I play oblivion on steam deck, with this mod i get from 20/25fps to 35/45fps into oblivion gates, it gets better with frame gen i get up to 60fps with almost all medium settings and texture high.
For everyone playing on STEAM DECK i recommend activating manual GPU clock form deck settings from the right panel otherwise framegen just doesnt work
DOWNLOAD the VRR version and put it inside ObvData folder and set the file for read only permission.
Seconded on this. Its a game changer for handhelds. Got my Deck Oled up to the 40s and 50s outdoors and 60+ indoors and my Ally X in the 60s outdoors and 100+ inside. Great mod!
For anyone on Linux/Deck, Folder location is Oblivion Remastered - Content - Dev - ObvData
has anyone gotten a fix for %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows not being available and only coming up with steam_autocloud.vdf in the "\saved\" section of the directory? Thanks!

Running on 3600XT and a 2060 with 20GB of RAM (yes).
Improved performance SO SO SO much - damn! I'm running on all ultra settings with a reshade on my 3070 now and damn, it's amazing.
Thanks for this!!!
