I have a 5080, a 9800x3d, both slightly overclocked, all drivers updated.
STILL. I cannot run this game on 4 k in high on everything. I cannot run it with dlss or framegen. Anything I do to the settings, even when doing all changes in the menu before loading into a game, still brings on stutters. Running everything ong LOW still gives stutters. I downloaded new dll's and used the other optimizer. I used the nvidiaProfileInspector and did some tweaks according to some guide. I turned off gsync on my gcyng compatible but not ready monitor. The game still runs like shit. I'm gonna try this now. What a bonkers bad optimized game. Guess Todd again let go of the ropes a little too soon chanting his little prayer "It just works! It just works! ..."
I have never left a comment for a mod, but after downloading Ver2 I have noticed and felt a significant increase in my 1% lows. At first I thought it was a placebo but the game immediately felt smoother for me.
Also be aware there was a patch for the Gamepass version of the game today. This introduced a bug where you are unable to select and turn on upscaling. Seems to be a UI only issue as there are ways to enable DLSS, FSR, and FG in the console. However after loading the game initially my performance felt increasingly better. I noticed SOME hitching and stuttering after loading into areas for the first few minutes, but this was resolved after playing for about an hour or two. The game doesnt feel like its chugging in certain areas anymore, and since I am not a developer or modder I can only assume this was the result of the authors tweak. Your mileage may vary but its certainly worth a try. I am running a 9700x and 3080, all settings set to High with the exception of textures set to Ultra. In the forest areas I was getting around 55-65 fps but this did not FEEL all that stable to me with the 1% lows in the 30s and 40s. After the tweak my FPS hovers around 75-85 and my 1% lows are somewhere around 55fps after about an hour or two of playing.
Really appreciate the tweak FrancisLouis!
Also be aware (again I may be ignorant since Im not sure) that my CPU utilization and temp went up quite a bit. Before I was hitting about 20-30% on the CPU and the temps were around the 40s. After this tweak I assume the CPU is being used quite a bit more efficiently, as my temps now are about 50-65 degrees. This is no issue as I just went in and adjusted my cooling a bit to give myself more peace of mind, but honestly CPUs are rating to run MUCH hotter so this is only a OCD thing I do when playing games.
To end this long post I definitely rec giving this a try, doesnt hurt at all. You may get smoother gameplay or things may stay the same. At first I thought I was just imagining things or maybe the update, but I did not see performance fixes when looking at the notes. I verified on MSI Afterburner that my 1% lows increased a good bit which is why the game feels so much better playing now even though the FPS can sometimes still hover around the high 60s or so.
Will this work with P40L0X's Ultimate engine tweaks, or will they conflict and cause issues? I notice that yours is a .pak file, and P40L0X's is a .ini engine tweak.
excuse me if I'm wrong and didn't get it since I'm not a modder, but this one is .pak, not .ini so what do you mean by saying that both are engine.ini?
Considering that this is a .pak it should work together, no?
EDIT: I'm using both right now. I don't know if it cancels each other or not, but I was already using the mod from P40L0X and now this one gave the game another ~5 to ~10 fps boost. (I say that I don't know if it cancels each other because it could be that the gains are only from this mod).
I want to preface this by saying I have literally no idea at all how these pak files work or are made aside from how to install them.
I've tested every performance-related tweak available on Nexus at the time of writing (around 11:45PM EST) and so far your Ver2 is the exclusive one to help with the stutter and not create additional issues. There was one other here that helped with stutter but was causing occasional crashes and clothing bugs.
Yours has been stable as a rock for over 4 straight hours of playtime. So thanks!
Since you released two versions, and your first doesn't help much, if at all, with the stutter, any chance I could ask you to explain what the differences in the two versions are?
Ist Off,I'm a gamer NOT a modder. And I certainly know nothing about coding. When I Started the game a few days ago,I was shocked as to how it was under optimised. I'm running an RTX 4080 Super. Set everything to "Ultra". Game ran like "S**t. Was getting in certain areas upper 40s-upper 50's fps. Soo !! Downloded this mod : Ultimate Engine Tweaks (Anti-Stutters - Lower Latency - No Film Grain - No Chromatic Aberration - Lossless) at Oblivion Remastered Nexus - Mods and community After messing around with my settings,A Slight improvement in Fps (Mid 60's Lower 70's) but still not stable. Then !!!!!! Downloaded your mod Annnnd !!! Immediately saw a Vast Improvement (High 90's to Lower 100's) So Francis Louis !! Endorsed And Kudos Given. Thank You Sir :-)
Just a reminder guys that manually updating all the streamline dll's is generally a good idea for modern games now, they always use old outdated, ones, updated mine and the dlss seems to be more stable for me. you can get them from here, theyre all in the bin folder https://github.com/NVIDIA-RTX/Streamline nvidia streamline folder for gamepass is located in XboxGames\The Elder Scrolls IV- Oblivion Remastered\Content\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\nvidia\DLSS\Streamline and thank you for the mod, getting no stutter so far!!!
inside the game folder i already showed you up top where its located for the xbox gamepass version, you use the files from the github streamline bin folder to replace the files inside the streamline game folder, and as always back up your files first in the game folder before doing anything. make sure you only replace the files that are inside the game folder, dont copy and paste everything over from the github folder. turn off motion blur in game also frame gen hates motion blur
I did a video comparison between Vanilla and this mod. The video shows that it has almost no effect on the stutters, but in my general playthrough, I genuinely thought it had reduced the stutters a lot. But maybe it was just a placebo effect. video and more info: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/videos/43
