Actually the file gets overwritten on load if you don't have it as "readonly" so you don't need to re enter the default values to uninstall. Also the default file is empty so I'm guessing this file overwrites the defaults. It doesn't set them itself
Funny discovery for this one, you won't be able to complete the Sheograth shrine quest with this setting- basically in stasis for the conclusion of the quest (won't spoil), but just posting for if someone else runs into it.
Came here to post just this!! It drove me nuts!! They just stood there, looking at me, lol!!
I just spent the last 3 hours reading about Sheogorath's shrine quest, thinking it was bugged, restarting the game at least 20 times, traveling to other locations, starting without mods, watching videos about it, and no one mentioned what I was seeing, well, *not* happen!!
Finally something clicked (you have to be doing the quest to understand) and thought to myself "It's not very probable that the 0 fall damage for me, the player gets taken into account, is it??" So I looked around in my folders trying to remember *how* I got 0 damage, but since the mod was very simple, I hadn't downloaded it, rather edited the Altar.ini myself, so I had no clue. I found this mod here again, looked at how it worked and there it was, waiting for me. I disabled it and lo and goddamn behold, the quest finished with a smash, as it should have, lol! Makes sense now, but...so, so stupid, haha.
Just for future readers: The third and final "aspect" of the quest will not be able to complete, because of Fall damage negation. Just edit the Altar.ini again without the mod, finish the final step and edit it again!
The point of a mod is to do a thing. This does nothing, and I'm supposed to do the data editing myself? What is the point of downloading it, or calling it a mod? I got a no fall damage mod in Skyrim that actually eliminates fall damage when you install it.
i put the values into the Altar and i am still taking fall damage even after restarting game any ideas? i actually replaced the file all together with yours so i would mess anything up
I'm actually looking for quiet the opposite of what your mod does I'd like to increase fall damages to make them realistic because my character can survive a 50 meters + fall with just 1/8 of his health lost. I have no mod changing this in my base game and I feel like it's a vanilla behaviour.
EDIT : I'm actually dumb I can just edit your values in your ini, any suggestions how can I have "realistic" values... Sorry that's not the point of your mod but it's a great base for me to get what I'm looking for and you are the only person who uploaded something related to fall damages. ^^
After nearly an hour of start/close and restart the game here are the values I came up with and it feels pretty credible for me, since I do not want to steal someone else's work I won't just steal the mod and add my values then upload it and call it a day : that would be an ass move from me and I do respect a lot these people's hardwork so I give here what I came up with :
Once again the mod was about removing these damages but if anybody is looking for the same thing then I just download this mod and add these values instead. :)
Do you mind telling me where you got those VOblivionInitialSettings from? I want to tweak other stuff as well but cannot find a list of valid variables to change.

Thanks!
You have to set the Altar.ini file to read only so it isn't rewritten.
