v2.4 - Fixed a bug where the settings we're not applying properly, leading to no FPS gain or visual changes. I forgot to add the header to the top section of the mod "[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]". If you're on v2.3 you NEED to update, as v2.3 barley does anything
v2.3 - Improved shadow quality across all presets, and Ultra Quality shadows look better than the vanilla game without costing more performance - Reorganized the file structure - Improved image quality for DLSS/XeSS & FSR3 slightly - Improved FG
V2.2 - Fixed flickering shadows present in some presets. Might've reduced the preset's performance by roughly 4% depending on what in game shadow quality you use
v2.1 - Added Vortex support - Added more presets - Revamped all presets for a better balance between quality & performance - Made the Ultra Quality preset boost performance with no quality loss - Mod left beta stage
What sorcery is this? Using this one and your visual fixes mod, game is looking so much better and I'm getting same performance as before but with FSR pushed up one or two notches. Amazing work, nice to see a set of INI's that seem to have some sense and understanding behind them.
For reference, I'm using the ultra quality with a couple of my own tweaks too in the ini (mostly taken from lumen remastered for the skylight changes), running high-ultra settings with full HW RT on 6800 XT and upscaling with FSR to 4k.
Hey man thx a lot for your mod, it's cool! Can you please help with one thing: Using Balanced preset I have a bug with water reflections, my weapon and some other textures reflect strangely (https://www.reddit.com/r/oblivion/comments/1k5l1af/how_do_i_fix_this_weird_water_reflection_oblivion/) But such bug (?) is missing in your Quality preset. Unfortunately, Quality preset isn't an option for me:( Can you please help and tell me which parameter in Quality helps with that bug so I could add it to Balanced files?
I've been using this mod with Disable lumen outdoors, optiscaler and nukem's dlssg-to-fsr3 framegen. There was a weird line that followed my character in first person and third person. I thought it was a screen tearing but it was vertical and small. Deleted all lines between Unreal Plugins and Engine Optimizations in Engine.ini. This fixed my problem.
I'd really like to fix this bug for the next update, so I have two questions
1 - Which anti-aliasing do you use in game
2 - Did this issue happen regardless of what anti-aliasing you had selected
3 - Did you ever test which specific section caused the problem? You removed 2 sections, which contained about 6 categories, I'm wondering if you ever narrowed it down
Absolutely Based, the only optimisation mod that actually works! im getting 120fps around the imperial city for no visual loss really, man how hard would it have been for Bethesda/Virtuos to optimise this game lol.
Seriously thanks bro. I tried like 8 different performance mods, none of them did anything. This one actually gave me 60fps instead of 20-40. Had to paste the ini files manually. I'm using a razer blade with 1070 max Q.
Absolutely phenomenal mod — I might even say magical. It took my game from a choppy 25–40 FPS to a stable 50–60 FPS everywhere. I went with the 6. Performance Pack and was finally able to disable FSR, slightly increase the Resolution Scale, and use TSR for Anti-Aliasing. The game now looks and feels like a proper AAA title — on a Mac Mini M4 Pro via Crossover, no less! No more ghosting or stuttering from FSR3… I’m genuinely thrilled.
That said, there’s one significant drawback with this preset: interior lighting in many establishments is or seems broken. Locations like the Mages Guild, vendors, smiths, and other small indoor areas suffer from overly dark or oddly bright lighting, with no natural transition — making them feel very off. Strangely, Temples, Castles, and other larger interiors seem perfectly fine, with no lighting issues at all.
Still, the performance gain and overall experience outweigh it for me — this preset is a godsend in every other environment. Would love to see a future tweak or patch that addresses the lighting issues indoors. Thanks again for this amazing work! Endorsed and Voted.
Gotta say, such a shame this mod isn't too popular. It made the game actually enjoyable on my Steam Deck without absolutely tanking the graphics. I would've completely given up on this game without this. Thanks very much! I really appreciate your work
Endorsed. This works better for me than Ultimate Engine Tweaks. Mouse movement doesn't feel "floaty," there's no screen tearing, no micro stuttering, and performance is overall smooth. I hope this gets more attention as it definitely works as described. I am using the High Quality preset.
Hi, I really appreciate the performance boost this engine.ini gives me compared to the one at https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/35, however this one gives me really bad ghosting when using DLSS while the other one had none. Do you know what I can do to fix the ghosting? Are there specific lines I can add/remove? Really appreciate any help you can provide! Wonderful work here. :)
P.S. I've tried different DLSS quality settings and turning FG off and on, makes no difference. Also tried the High Quality and Quality versions of this mod, similar results.
Its because that mod enables auto exposure I'm pretty sure, the base game has ghosting since its off by default and I didn't touch it in my mod since it doesn't impact framerate
