I already have the construction set installed in my original oblivion folder and when I run the installer in the remastered folder it prompts me to uninstall the original. If I do that, then running the installer again automatically installs it in the original folder.

How do I direct it to the Remastered folder without deleting the original?
Or How do I make the construction set load the Remastered files?

Hello and good evening everyone. I have a slightly different problem. Everything works perfectly, and I managed to install the CK. However, using the game's base resources works, but when I try to create a new weapon, for example (to give it a different name and attributes than an existing weapon) with a new ID, the item is present in the game (in a vanilla chest I placed in a specific location), but it is invisible if my character tries to retrieve it.

To take things a step further, I tried doing the same thing with a chest (a new chest this time with an ID I created) and placing it in the Imperial City, and the game crashes immediately. Do you have any suggestions?

PS: I use existing objects without modifying their meshes or textures. I only modify their IDs, then save to create a new object without modifying the original.

From what I understand, some people do this with "Construction Set Extender." I'm not sure what I'm saying, but it seems to me that's the case. We need to check.

Try extracting all the texture files from " Oblivion-Textures-Compressed.bsa " and add ALL the loose textures to the textures folder. Let me know if that works.  I ran into a problem like this when I made a private mod for Skyrim years ago
  3. Hello, Eviction, I need your help.

I installed CS inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data but when I open it, I don't have access to any master file to load as usual. The list is empty.

Do I need to do something specific ?

    Thank you for your help

I'm having the sam eproblem I see no way of redirecting the app to load that folder, either installing the CS inside it or outside it.

if you instead install it in the obvdata folder (where the oblivion.ini and oblivion_default.ini files are) you should be able to load all your plugins, however i still got an error when trying to create a plugin.
    3. Thank you, I will try that and let you know

      Edit :
It works, as TheStarTreker says, unfortunately there are still things we can't save, in my case modifying NPCs faces.

Putting it in the ObvData folder totally did the trick for me too, the errors didn't appear at all when I started it up. Seriously, thanks for the heads-up, mlstystep. I've actually been thinking about making my own player home plugin/mod, so your trick came at the perfect time. Hopefully I won't have an error when I create one.

WARNING, using this to add an custom container to the game world will cause a crash when entering the cell you add the item to, currently don't know any way around this.
Update: If you use a container already present, it will work.
New weapons are non functional however, they will show up in your inventory but will not work when equipped. I think this may be due to it being a new reference and not registering in game (as the construction set seems to be at odds with the remastered game currently).
I have been successful in adding custom spells via tomes however, which has made me very happy but new abilities to give characters improved stats have been hit and miss (especially when I try to use the feather effect).

"new weapons" as in stuff with new models/textures? would a vanilla weapon with enchantments added work?

edit: it doesn't work, damn. but can at least confirm you can add them to a vendor and they will sell them!

I was having the same problem too! What worked for me was when I went to save my work, instead of saving in the data folder (where any sane person would) go up one folder to and save in the obvdata folder.

Yeah, I'm running into the same problem. My best guess is it's because we're using the original Construction Set, which probably isn't meant to work with Oblivion Remastered. That's likely what's causing the error, but honestly, I'm not totally sure.

For some reason it just crashed on start up when I try. I followed all the install steps correctly, when I load it up it gives the warnings about not being able to load the sky, stars, clouds, etc, then crashes.

I know that the old CS can load the new esp files, but it can't edit them properly, and this really shouldn't be advertised as working with the Remaster because, technically, it doesn't.

THIS SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE DESCRIPTION:

THIS CONSTRUCTION KIT DOES NOT FULLY 100 WORK WITH REMASTERED.

It can edit/tweak some things but major edits like creating new locations ..and pretty much any big edits to existing locations is not possible due the way the game assets are handled in game

    (yet anyways)

given that its really NOT fully compatible. i might suggest they NOT allow it  on the remastered mods list
if you want it you can go ahead and just download it in the oblivion nexus since its the same one (you need the dll too)

but posting it here may confuse a lot of users.
id honestly might move nexus to just remove this version because of that
to avoid confusion/major issues by people.
