Just can't get it to work. followed the instructions to the letter. Dropped the file in the root folder, unzipped it, added AbandonedHouseNewPlayerHome.esp to the plugins.txt file, made sure the .esp file is in the Data folder and...nada. Any thoughts? Edit: I forgot to save the plugins.txt file after I altered it..I'm dumb, carry on.
This is meant to be a humble, abandoned house that is safe for a player to move in to. I know that one-stop-shop everything homes are popular, but that's not something I'm interested in making. I'm sure other mods will come along with such goals soon, but this one is going to stay on the low-key side.
wish you could delete posts i didnt mean to send all of these lol........ sorry.
but i gotta say it would be nice if you made a more clear post of how you did this. and in the dsicord you have a few random posts pinned but they dont actually walk through for someone like me of how you did it.......... i mean just confusing that you cant post a simple post on here and say ok this is how it was done .
i know you want people to check your discord but it would be VERY helpful for other modders on the nexus if you would share on here how this was done........
Ok ill edit this post: (sorry again for the duplicate posts)
since OP sadly didnt explain here how it was done. after reading some of the dicord chat .......it seems they used xedit to be able to add the exterior mesh of the house and then made another edit to fix the NF prefix error ..... and apparently the interior is NOT a new cell , as it requires some Unreal engine fiddling but was tacted on to to an old interior cell. so thats interesting. but yeah.......again would have REALLY been helpful if you posted that info here. tip to other modders if you create something that adds something new to the mod community PLEASE try to document your work just a tad on the nexus to help other modders.
having your own discord is nice.......but since this is the main remastered modding community as it is already. it would be VERY helpful to post on here too.

The process is complex and attempts to explain it would almost certainly be met with questions. So I'd much rather discuss it in a place where conversation flows more naturally so that questions can be explored. This is a less comfortable forum for it, to my personal preferences.
I'm happy to share what I know, and have been doing so the entire time.
From a quick internet search, appears that only arrows used to despawn in the original Oblivion game. Not sure if this was changed for the remaster, but that's what I know so far.
You know what would be cool. If you had the house attached to a miniquest to get the key to open it.
Example: Note attached to house "Down by lake be back soon". Then literally down by the lake have a npc corpse holding a key with a mudcrab around it. lol.

"Can we buy it?"
It is an abandoned building. We just escaped a sewer and found a safe place to sleep!
Geez
Like playing D&D: "You have stumbled across an old abandoned building..."
Player: "Can we buy it??"
