Thank you so much for making this file edit the new update on game pass took my frame rate from around 100 FPS on average down to 57 FPS at best, this mod brought my frame rate back and made the 1% lows a lot smoother. My system for reference.
This mod changed, a lot, from 40-45 fps in the open world in 1080p high settings, to almost constant 60 everywhere, with a gtx 1080 and Ryzen 5 1600. Thx a lot !
You're the best! that line at the end in the config actually enabled frame gen for me! Was just gone after the patch. Other videos had similar config lines but they didn't work for me.
I have an RX 7900 XTX btw for anyone else who might need this fix and has the same gpu as me.
What a lifesaver! It was unplayable on my 15-year-old PC. I was truly unhappy and sad that I couldn't play it smoothly. I tried modded the original Oblivion, but it doesn't work and doesn't look as good as the new one. I also searched the internet for a solution to enable it, but couldn't find anything. Thank you so much, I can play it smoothly now.
So i downloaded this mod and did the replace in the data folder and now im getting a fatal error everytime I launch the game? any ideas on what mightve gone wrong?
I think you swapped the framerate and frametime display size in your screenshot.
FPS: """"71"""" frametime: 136ms
This means you are getting worse performance with a higher number. FPS has become a meaningless metric now because of FG.
At an actual 71 fps it should be ~1/10th of that. Normal is 8-20ms. Frame Gen is snake oil and can only make your experience worse, with higher latency, and less input responsiveness, with extra artifacting.
I say this in case there's anyone here that's simply naive and doesn't realize that all frame gen is just a scam to benefit video card makers' sales propaganda and lazy and incompetent developers. If you use the actual Radeon Adrenaline overlay it will show you the framegen latency and microstutter %.
This is why your controls aren't as responsive as they could be at 35fps.
Happy to help! Rigell If its grayed out and says its off, it doesnt mean its off. Compare FPS in same location, and look for ghosting. (when u swing the sword).
Coupling this with the engine tweaks and lumen removal allows me to play the game on high settings with balanced upscaling at 70+ FPS in exteriors. With hardware from 2016. The game is beautiful now.
It's funny seeing the little pop up saying my pc is too weak to run the game now every time I launch, lmao.
I was searching whole day yesterday for solution, couldnt find anywhere. And when i found it, i wanted to share with others :) I use Ultimate Engine Tweaks too with Frame Gen. Didnt tryed removing Lumen, does visuals drop too much?
I dont have any major FPS boost from disabling lumen, maybe cuz i'm CPU bottlenecked. End i have global illu on high and outside there is no big diff to me, only in interiors there were black textures. There is a mod that let you have Luman indoors and off outdoors and helps alot with that :)

Add these lines to Engine.ini:
[SystemSettings]
Altar.UpscalingMethod=1
Altar.DLSS.Quality=4
Altar.DLSS.FG.Enabled=1
Altar.Reflex.Mode=3
DLSS Quality -> 4 = Quality, 5 = Balanced, 6 = Performance, 7 = Ultra Performance
Reflex: 1 = On, 3 = On + Boost
Engine. ini path:
Game Pass - C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\WinGDK
Steam - C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows
Do not forget to set the file to read-only!
here are the ones i found in a steam post which work for me, in case someone else having the same problem.
[SystemSettings]
Altar.FSR3.Enabled=1
Altar.FSR3.FI.Enabled=1
Altar.FSR3.Quality=3
Altar.FSR3.Sharpness=25
r.FidelityFX.FSR3.Enabled=True
r.FidelityFX.FSR3.UseNativeDX12=True
r.FidelityFX.FI.Enabled=True
Copy this, open your original Engine.ini and paste at end of your text pressing enter twice after the last line. Worked for me at least

Thanks for the mod.
