hey, ive waited 24 hours outside for them to reset, tried using the command, and nothing is working. Even bodies and items outside are just not despawning even though it's been days since they've died and items were dropped. Any help would be appreciated
I assume you mean the ResetInterior command? Were you both outside of the cell and using the correct cell ID for that cell? You can use "Getgs iHoursToRespawnCell" to assess whether my mod is working too
Is there an easy way to force a specific merchant to reset? For some reason Aurelinwae in the Mystic Emporium and Hamlof in Red Diamond Jewelry just refuse to. It's odd because I very often sell to Thoronir in the Copius Coinpurse and his shop resets normally. No matter how long I wait or where, those two never will.
Sorry for the delay on this. I'd meant to test and report back, but it slipped my mind for awhile :(
You want to use the command "ResetInterior ICMarketDistrictMysticEmporium" and ResetInterior ICMarketDistrictRedDiamondJewelry" while OUTSIDE of the respective cells. You can be in the streets or wherever, but not inside those stores when you execute the commands
Does this apply to dungeons as well? For example, do Varla and Welkynd Stones respawn in Ayleid ruins? There is a whole mod dedicated to this and I'm curious if I need to run both at the same time to get a fully-respawning Cyrodiil.
I'm getting mixed results when testing the mod. Using the "other hourly" plugin, I bought a watermelon from Thoronir and the watermelon in his shop respawned as intended. I then stole the flowers on the second floor of the Merchant's Inn to see if it would affect the respawn rate for theft; nothing respawned. Pillaging dungeons had the same effect. Ironically enough the Welkynd Stones respawned because of the mod discussed earlier, but any gear or treasure lying around the dungeon did not respawn. Are you sure it applies to areas beyond shops?
I just tested this in a house and a cave. In the house, I dropped a sword and stole everything in sight. After leaving and waiting, the food respawned, but not any of the non-food items. The sword did not despawn. In the cave, I killed a minotaur, looted all of the mushrooms, and dropped a sword. The minotaur and mushrooms respawned, but the sword remained. I am not sure what to make of the inconsistency of these results, but there you go. I suppose maybe non-food items are treated differently? I was under the impression that the cell would fully reset prior
Does this affect places like the aleswell inn? You permanently get a free room there for the quest and I have items stored in the chest in that room until I get a player home. Will this reset the chest im storing things in?
Yes* and No*. All cells are affected, but certain chests, especially those intended for the player to own, are flagged to not reset when the cell they are in do. This does not mean that all containers in player homes are safe. You will want to consult the wiki and/or forums to determine which containers are good to go on a case by case basis.
In your case though, the drawers in that room are safe per the wiki and a thread I found. Anything you drop on the ground as decoration however will still disappear
Hi does this mod refresh enchanted gear in shops? I really enjoy buying specific enchanted items from shops (just like in Skyrim), but I noticed that in this game, no matter how long I stay away, each shop only sells one enchanted item and it never changes. It would be great if enchanted items could also refresh randomly :)
As far as I know merchants do not have special inventories for enchanted items. Basically their chest populates "randomly" (via some calculation that I do not know) every time the cell resets, which is what this mod addresses. I hope that helps! :)
It looks like you downloaded the Daily version. Are they not resetting? Did you wait 24 hours before entering the cell? Did they reset before you got the mod? Did you put RespawnCellsRestockMerchantsDaily.esp as the last line of your plugins.txt? I'm sure we can figure it out :)
Is there any possibility of setting the dungeon respawn to never occur, or such a long timer it would never happen, without touching the vanilla merchant's reset? (In every bethesda game I use mods to eliminate random cell respawns because if I kill 300 bandits in 3 days, I shouldn't come back later to find 300 more bandits, it ruins my immersion.)
Yes* and No*. Natively the game does not distinguish between cell resets and vendor resets because vendors source their supply from a hidden chest that is collateral damage when the cell resets. I have an idea for a way to get around this with scripting, but I'm very much in the no promises stage with that one. It does seem to be a popular request though
if i remember right in vanilla for regular vendor reset you had always had to leave the area, fast travel to a diff city and wait 3x days, then the vendors would restock you couldent be in the same area as the trader or even return before the 3 day mark or it wouldent work. love that this mod cuts down on the time significantly.
Seclipse1999 is correct. That is the vanilla behavior. The fact that you are having a contrasting experience is odd to me. Let's make sure that everything is loading correctly. Hit ` (or whatever you bound console to) and enter GetGS iHoursToRespawnCell. That will return a value for what your current setting is. There are other variables, but to the best of my testing they do not do anything (iMerchantRespawnDay1 and iMerchantRespawnDay2)
Those values are correct. Which vendor is doing this? Have you tried others? The only other thing I can think of is that the vendor chest for whoever you are talking about has somehow been set to resist cell resets. This is why player home chests do not reset
I checked a fighting chance, the best defence, and stonewall shields, and the lady in the mystic emporium that sells the frostcrag items, as well as the smiths in anvil and cheydinhal. Only other esp's in my load order are Unleveled Item Rewards (Spell, item, and deluxe edition items) from Trainwiz
The only thing I can think of is that your other mod made the merchant chests persistent (immune to cell resets), but I find this overwhelmingly unlikely if it's Unleveled Item Rewards. Meanwhile other people here have my mod and it works without issue. The return values you gave check out too. It SHOULD be resetting. Let's force a cell reset, enter "resetinterior ICMarketDistrictAFightingChance" in the console. This should reset The Fighting Chance's main floor cell. Actually go ahead and steal some items or otherwise change things in the cell first. If the changes are undone, but the merchant does not reset, then my next advice would be to temporarily disable ALL of your mods (even though they should be fine), make a new save (or download one of the many on the Nexus), and see if the merchants respawn. Vanilla certainly should, but we've already gone through the likely candidates, so I believe we are forced to entertain the unlikely ones. If the respawn works, I would re-add your mods one at a time until the problem either presents or you add all of your mods. Alternatively, you could open the TES Construction Set with your files and check on one of the merchant chests to see if it is persistent for some reason
I swear the game is gaslighting me at this point. Went back to vanilla, worked with the 72 hour reset. Re-enabled mods, and now it refuses to break again even when I load the saves that were having the issue with this same load order. So uh, task failed successfully I guess? Thank you for all your help even if we may never get to the bottom of what caused it in the first place.
This has been by far my most requested feature. Oblivion is more challenged in this department unfortunately, so there is no native way to easily accomplish this with changing values. I do have an idea for how to accomplish it with scripting, but the jury is out as to whether I will be able to with the remastered limitations. It is on my to-do list

I like to be OCD and clear everything in an area without it respawning.
