IthinkI'm getting what you're saying? Having hit/blood decals on NPC/enemy models that are collision based and location accurate to where they're hit? They were in the Original right? Not super accurate.. But I remember those and environment decals spawning even after death... also being kinda glitchy haha but it was cool bc sometimes a decal would stretch and make it look like a massive wound or blood spray
Question/Request related to Blood- One difference in the remaster is that Blood particles and decals stop emitting as soon as an enemy "dies"
It's kind of stilted and awkward. Do you know if this is tied to death state to protect weapon durability?
TLDR on the rest/straight to the ask-
Is this related to decal spawn? Or tied to more than one system here? I'm gonna take a look in the INI and see if anything stands out related to particle/decal spawn. But I'm not a Rocket surgeon so if this goes any deeper than INI edits I need someone to make a Mod plz. Thx
Semi Legit Justifications lol- When I was 13 and this game came out I found it amusing that you could keep hitting dead things and the blood/decals would keep coming out.. sometimes smeared and scaled glitchy. So... Weird request, but for my nostalgia.. I want to bring back corpse abuse haha but it is immersion breaking for me when a body stops reacting to sword hits bc the game decided they've had enough.
Yeah, I want that too + also blood decals on NPCs (in original Oblivion blood also appeared on NPCs and creatures sometimes when you hit them) but so far I haven't found a single variable which would alter exactly this.
is there a possiblity at getting a mod that does the opposite? or a setting in this mod (ie custom blood decal duration)? I have a weak stomach and there isn't a mod that removes the blood decals entirely, least not yet.
Permanent decals is something I've been looking for! Any way to make spell impacts last longer? Like, fireball scorch marks on walls not disappearing for at least 5 mins.
Confirmed, doesn't work for the blood on weapons. I'm trying to make that work too. Also, it's sad how there are no blood effects on characters at all. In original Oblivion blood was also appearing on characters and creatures as well.
Setting the fade to 300 for 5 minutes is ideal to avoid the save/reload issues. In the games config file under [Display] fDecalLifetime did the same thing.
fDecalLifetime didn't work for me for some reason. That was the first thing which I tried, since it worked in original Oblivion and all other Bethesda games. And yes, you can set it to 5 minutes, but the problem still persists if you load a save (if the 5 minute mark still didn't pass since the blood decals were spawned)

I can only get as far as "Documents", and the folder is completely empty.
I haven't launched the game yet, like at all, is that the issue? (also brand new PC).
Thanks!

is someone using gamepass version of the game and tell me how to do it since those files are not there for me.

If you can somehow find this feature in the new engine it might work :)
Also, I've been thinking about it. But the weapon decals seems to he similar to skyrim. Like it's a separate variable.
