Usually I don't mess with ReShade when I mod my games because I never think it's worth it. When I saw this I had to try. Game looks incredibly, you did such an amazing job. I know you've been getting compliments (well deserved) but you really do have an incredible eye for matching the palette of the movies. Color theory game S-tier. Thanks for making this preset!

Awesome job, this would have gone so hard in 2006. We were so blessed by LOTR and Oblivion being from the same era

      It's in the mod description

      HOW TO INSTALL (5min):

      • Download the preset manually
      • Unzip the contents of the preset into \Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\
      • Download the latest Reshade (https://reshade.me/)
      • During installation, point it to "\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered.exe".
      • Choose DirectX 10/11/12
      • Check every effects
      • Click browse, and choose LOTR ReShade.ini
      • Boot up the game, press "Home"(default key) to open Reshade and select LOTR ReShade.ini
      • That's it, it's installed. It'll load up automatically every time you start the game.

Is this mod okay to use with widescreen monitors? Before I installed the UI and everything fit my screen perfectly, but afterwards I have text going outside of the frame that is now unreadable (ex. you are over-encumbered - can't see the whole sentence.)

I have text going outside of the frame

This must be from the letterbox preset, it is a small addition to give a movie-like feel - you can turn it off

I found this to be very blinding with a ton of bloom. idk if that has to do me using an HDR (OLED) display. I was expecting more complaints here but not seeing any. thoughts?

you can tweak the "ambient lighting" perset (base value is 6000 or 7000 iirc, dimish it to 5k or less if you want less "bloom" but there aren't any "real" bloom per se, except for the "gaussianblur" but it is very light and only affects contours (as such is ambient lighting).
It shouldn't be that blindind tho, as you can see per the screenshots.

Otherwise as description says, drop in-game brightness to -2.
If still too bright, try disabling HDR, or reducing in-game brightness again.

If referring to menus - yes these are blinding unless you install Menu Recolor - until more dark UI options come out.
A part from that, I can't really do anything for the menus atm as i'm limited to what preset do.

The ReShade is still work in progress and options without "bloom" will come out, as well as more balance will come in future

Probably a dumb question. But, in the Reshade install, you say "check every effect". Do you mean every single one in the list? There's a lot on there and I'm not sure if any will clash.

Only for the install to be sure you don't miss any effect from my presets, but not check every effect in the in-game menu lol otherwise it'll be a mess

I'd really love to use this preset, but I had to disable pretty much everything that makes the game look good. No lumen, film grain, bloom, fog, etc. Shadows are set to low, and DLSS is turned on to Ultra-Performance. For reference, my PC has an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor and an NVIDIA RTX 4070 12 GB graphics card. Even with all these setting as they are now, my fans still sound like a jet engine.

you have a better PC than me by a good bit. Just set everything to high instead of ultra (if you haven't already), and most importantly set DLSS to performance mode. You should still get very crisp visuals so long as you're forcing presets J or K. Uninstall NVIDIA App if you have that installed and instead use Nvidia Profile Inspector to force games to use DLSS preset J or K (i recommend K).

Nice! As much as I love the original vibrancy and whimsical feel of classic Oblivion, this is a fantastic take on the aesthetic as well.

You should consider adding a screenshot from an Oblivion realm — especially something wild-looking with ReShade applied
