yea i believe jauffre, and martin use them in the quest line. had to tip toe around the path noding, and tbh i havent gotten to that part of the main quest yet to see if its jank or not.
Just saw the update! We can use Martin's room as our own now? That's awesome, I always adored the round wooden lattice walls in that room, so happy to see we can use it! Awesome work man!
just uploaded another update for now. added a few teleports in the testing hall that lead to Todd Howards Testing cells where there's some debug test npcs, interiors, and Todd Howard voice lines. Got it working thanks to Haphestia's fix and port script.
and yes everything in martins room is safe storage, and removed ownership from the bed. I tested to see if he still uses it, and he does. so that aspect should be safe. you can even use the bed while martin himself is sleeping in the bed.
Yea I'll take it into consideration when I work on this. I really come up with a solution to the bamboo doors aswell. I was more worried about the bed being too close the horse, but I think they'll room. I just wanna cover any path nodes and have hosses in yer bed. Unless...
lol it looks super tight. the horse markers are like 1ft away from that back wall. i just uploaded my edits. i left the bed but included safe storage and a non-owned bed in martins room. so now two homes in one. i just grow tired of the same like 25 assets. it makes it easier to articulate what to look for, but got damn.. it'd be nice to make my own items, and use that instead of another 25 ales and skooma pots. I require Mass Ave Skooma. Instant knock-down effect, but +15 reflect phys dmg and +1 water walking. I feel neutered. I need to create potions that f*#@ you on 3 things, at the cost of like +3 str for an hour.
Adding on to the other comments about sprucing up the rest of the temple/having a room inside - what about getting Martin's room as a reward post main quest since he won't be needed it anymore? Maybe sprinkle some safe storage and display cases about the main hall
Only way I can do that is if I remove Martin's owner ship on his bed, and set those containers to no respawn, which could set whatever container is used in game as no respawn, since i dont know how to delete things in both construction kit, and the ue5 pak. Also I don't think creating quest logic is possible using just construction kit alone. I feel way over my head here. I don't understand how to do anything ue5 related. IDK if I want to. Basically just dump everything I'm doing for the next few months making little tutorial builds to figure out ue5.. I'm good with all dat. Otherwise I like the idea, and if things become less complex to handle, I'll totally do that.
I love seeing mods like this being created already.
It would be phenomenal if you could "re-clutter" the entirety of Cloud Ruler Temple. Oblivion’s age really shows in how empty some areas feel, and adding more clutter would make it feel so much more alive.
Saw this yesterday when it dropped, not downloading yet as Im still early game, and dont wanna give myself access to stuff like enchanting table yet, but def will when I get farther in game. Mostly commenting cause HOLY CRAP MAN good job! Wasn't even sure something like this would be possible until I saw this mod pop up. Seriously impressive that we already have the first custom Player Housing as far as I know! Keep up the good work!
Edit: Just saw you already made 2 before this I didn't see. Even cooler! Options already!
Yea Haphestia is really the one making headway with messing around with UE5. Absolutely goated. Us map makers need to be able to make new items, interiors, npcs, path nodes, and statics most importantly. Which is possible, but a little above my experience level. Only unreal knowledge i have is unreal 2, and killing floor 2's modified ue3. Hopefully we get a devkit in the coming months to streamline everything.
Added bamboo doors. The doors on the will clip outside of the wall. I don't have a solution for this yet. I'll work on it more after I get sleep, and get out of work.
Yea the lights are a little bit too much. I agree. It's hard to gauge it since the lights don't appear in construction set. So its the process of adding things in, loading in game, seeing how everything looks, open up cs again, and eyeball everything based off of how it looks in game. Also a lot of the static textures and meshes are cleaned up and moved ever so slightly. So what looked aligned in construction kit, is misaligned in game. I have to clip nearly everything through walls, just to eyeball line them up lmao. It's great. Totally doesn't make tweaking things, and reloading the game to test the mod every 5 minutes a total pain in the bolls.
I feel like if i delete one or two and just spacem out a little bit. I can't edit radius size or anything like that. Believe nearly all lighting is handled in UE5. just got lucky with some inert, non-quest flagged activators that have light sources.
I'll consider adding more onto this mod. Souping up Cloud Ruler Temple as a whole. The main hall would be tough as there's a lot of main quest stuff in there. Also have to watch out for path nodes, and any triggers. The armory might not be a bad place to make into a sleeping quarters, but lots of load doors. still kinda limited without use of statics, and being able to create new interior cells altogether.
What about that path behind the temple? If you go out and around along the mountains to the west there's a path built with a chest, you can see it really well in the remake at night because of the fires.
Always thought that would be a good spot to put a big door for a player home inside the mountain, then you can do whatever you want.
no clue on what data i need to add records for statics in xedit. well i know what tags from the modding discord, but i'm unsure what i'm supposed to be looking at specifically. until it's a little bit more streamlined, i can't add new interiors.

Edit: I'll add some living arrangements in the west wing after I get some sleep. Got work tomorrow.
