So....how do we install this? What folder does it go in? I see no instructions. What is the name of the file we put in the plugins.txt?
For your previous mod the folder that downloads is called "Auto Upgrade Leveled Items" but the text we put is AutoUpgradeRewards.esp so its different.
Can we get some basic instructions on what file to unzip it into (as this game seems to want different mods to be unzipped into different folders, unlike other games ive modded where they all go into a "mod" folder") So i don't want to just guess. Using your other mod and want to add this, just don't have that context....
Ended up going with another version of this mod that had the instructions on it, and does the same thing, but I did realize in setting that up and doing some digging these .esp mods all go in the obvdat/data folder, while some other mods get extracted to the main game folder. So it looks like this one gets dumped in the same folder as "autoupgraderewards.esp" for any wondering. Sorry to be dense, I just follow the instructions on the front of the mod pages and wasnt figuring out how it actually worked. Would still help to have those on the front page for this one for dense people like me!
I might be alone in this, but I always figured Finger of the Mountain was supposed to suck - it's a punishment/gag reward. You literally only just joined and you're already betraying the guild for power? Fine, here's your """reward""", jackass.
It is worth mentioning that the level 20 version of this spell even when it fixed (assuming you are using the exact same fixed numbers as the patch) becomes functionally impossible to use without fortify magicka enchantments, and the level 25 version is effectively impossible to cast in any realistic scenario.
For context the highest amount of Magicka a player can get without any enchantments is 450, using a high elf, atronach birth sign, and maximized intelligence.
With min maxed enchantments the highest amount is 1032
Assuming you are using the same numbers as the unofficial patch, the level 20 version costs a massive 653 magicka, and the level 25 version 1547.
If possible it might be a good idea to limit it's leveling in the auto level mod to the level 10 version since that is still reasonably castable for most mage characters.
Spell Costs get even cheaper the higher your skill with that school. At 100 destruction your spell costs are 20% of the base so that 1547 would go down to 309. Still really high but its damage at level 25 is 90 points higher than a single target master spell. Id say this is fine.
I wonder if I should go with your version or this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/310?tab=description
Initially I liked the idea of the spell being more efficient than anything you could come up with at the spellcrafting altar yourself since its a quest reward (much like wizard's fury).
On the other hand the spell DOES seem to be quite strong so maybe the steep magicka cost is warranted...
thank you for this one, i just got the spell and don`t have enough mana to use it. I just installed with Auto Upgrade Leveled Items, but above or below in the plugin.txt?

Then you add FingerOfTheMountainFix.esp to the end of the Plugins.txt file.
