Description
This mod changes how three types of items are acquired: technique books drop more often from non-Feybreak dungeons, with certain work suitabilities tied to a specific region; IV fruits now drop from Feybreak dungeons and the Lv.60 Platform Oil Rig; and legendary schematics once again have a 3% drop chance from either an alpha boss or oil rig.

Installation (SP/MP/Servers)
- Exit Palworld.
- Navigate to your Palworld directory:
Steam: Library > Right-click Palworld > Manage > Browse local files
Game Pass: My Library > Right-click Palworld > Manage > Files > Browse... - Open the Paks folder located here: ...\Pal\Content\Paks\
- Download OldSchoolLootTable from the files tab. Once the ZIP file is downloaded, open it.
- Move OldSchoolLootTable_P.pak from the ZIP file to the Paks folder.
Multiplayer: Only needs to be installed by the host.
Dedicated Servers: Only needs to be installed on the server. Reboot server to take effect. - To check if the mod is working, proceed to the testing section below.
Testing
- Start Palworld and load a save/join your server.
- Find Alpha Chillet and capture/kill them. If they drop:
A. Cloth: The mod is working!
B. Leather: The mod is not working. If you've exhausted all troubleshooting options, then please leave a comment on the posts tab.
Features
Technique Books
- Found in the two chests at the end of non-Feybreak dungeons.
- Drop rate is increased to 10% per chest ≡ 19% chance to receive one book per dungeon or 1% chance to receive two books per dungeon.
- Regions drop certain work suitabilities (i.e. kindling and mining only drops in dungeons within the volcano region), letting you hone in on certain work suitabilities by lowering the odds from 1/11 to 1/2*.
*Sakurajima dungeons have a 5% chance per chest due to having 1/1 odds. - Supply drops in any region (including Feybreak) have a 10% chance to contain one book of any work suitability.
IV Fruits
- IV fruits can be found in the two chests at the end of Feybreak dungeons and on the Lv.60 Platform Oil Rig. These chests have a 3% chance to drop one fruit, with the large chest on the oil rig having a 100% chance.
Legendary Schematics
- All 58 legendary schematics once again have a 3% drop rate and can be found on either an alpha boss or oil rig.
- NOTICE: Some existing schematic drops (assault rifle, rocket launcher, etc.) have different sources now.
Dog Coins
- Drop rate is increased to 50% for all junkyards, elemental chests, and oil rig chests.
- Quantity is mostly increased across every source: junkyards, elemental chests, oil rig chests, mimogs, and the "Moonflower's Secret Hideout" expedition.
- IMPORTANT: Junkyards, elemental chests, and oil rig chests may initially give you an unmodded amount when looted. However, I can confirm that this'll eventually correct itself, likely due to new ones spawning in.
