Some in-depth rationales and descriptions you can safely skip if you’re not into lore
This applies to the recommended version of the mod:
The goal of the mod is not necessarily to make getting rare accessories easier (though it probably does), but rather make it less reliant on RNG-based grind (this ain’t an MMO :O).
Also, consider this a late/endgame mechanic. Accessories are powerful. Therefore, the recipes might seem pretty expensive. The reason the workbench is unlocked so early is that I didn’t want to lock you out of getting the Ring of Mercy at the same level as vanilla. And due to technical reasons™, I had to remove the ring from other workbenches.
Also due to technical reasons, I had to introduce the Parts items as intermediary. Crafting accessories straight from other accessories is problematic.
The mod also makes use of the rare jewels and pal materials that used to be good only for selling. Boring.
For now, only the most popular accessories are included:
- Attack Pendant
- Defence Pendant
- Life Pendant
- All 3 undershirt types (Multiclimate, Thermal, Heat resist)
Mod variants:
- HARD - recommended version. Vanilla friendly. Requires 3x previous tier accessories and expensive additional materials. Makes good use of otherwise useless items as crafting materials.
- EASY - Requires 2x previous tier accessories and cheap additional materials.
- PURE x3 - Requires 3x previous tier accessories ONLY. No additional materials.
- PURE x2 - Requires 2x previous tier accessories ONLY. No additional materials.
1. Two new ancient techs:
* Lv 19 - unlock Accessory Workbench. Replaces Ring of Mercy tech.
* Lv 47 - Craft Rare Accessories. Allows crafting rares in the workbench.
2. New workbench
* Allows dismantling items into Parts. You'll need to do that first in order to craft your accessory.
* Used to craft accessories from dismantled Parts.
* Always check the recipe you're going for before dismantling, because for now there's no way to revert dismantling.
* Takes over all accessory crafting.
3. New items - accessory parts with custom icons by Paulina
4. Updated descriptions of various items to fit the changes.
5. Removes the ability to craft accessories (including Ring of Mercy, Ability Glasses etc.) from other workbenches.
My other mods:
- Unlimited Expedition Stations
- Healing Partner Skill Overhaul (Percentage Based Healing and Configurable Cooldowns)
- Build Oil Extractor Anywhere
The mod is now PalSchema-based, so it should be highly compatible with other mods that don't mess with the exact same things.
Extra safety good practices:
- Try not to leave Parts around. Use them all up when crafting. The game doesn't like mod-added items.
- Use up or discard all Parts before uninstalling mod.
- For paranoia-level safety, you can install the mod, do your crafting, then uninstall it. Make sure to follow the above rules.
Mod was not tested with:
- Xbox Game Pass version
- Multiplayer
- Can only craft parts one by one - no way around it for now.
- Add recipes for less popular accessories - if there's demand.
- Craft Epic and Legendary accessories?? :O
