Hi Can you please make it that Only Rare 1 can get shuffled around Rarity 1 and Rare 2 around Rarity 2 and so on. To Prevent rarity 1 having a chance to breed a jormuntide :v Like Lambal + Lifmunk = jormuntde, Too OP
I'll have to mess with that, I'm sure I can, just take a little more coding learning to do. If all else fails I can set higher tier pals to have unique breeds like some of the rarer pals and legendary pals.
I'm always down for a new adventure, but I have little to no expertise in modding. This is my only work, which was largely done in conjunction with another modder with more experience.
That said, I'm almost always down for a challenge.
Fantastic mod, thanks for making this. I was thinking of delving into modding just to make this exact mod, because I can't resist the urge to look up things like breeding tables and the like. It kills the exploration of those mechanics. This saves that experience. You've substantially improved the game for me and that means a lot.
I just have one question. If i place the pak file it changes the default breeding combination? and if i remove the pak file will it make the breeding combinations default again ? Will it affect my save file if i remove the pak file? and the .exe version is flagged unsafe.
Its flagged because its an .exe and hasn't been manually removed from its quarantined state by Nexus yet. I've contacted them per their instructions and am just waiting to hear back, thank you :).
As for your question, theoretically it should be safe to remove at will and even continually change it as you play (restarting the game each time, of course). The program just reads and rewrites one value that is only calculated on egg creation, and since it works as a patch, you'd essentially just be removing the overwrite to the base file. It should just revert back to the vanilla state if the .pak is removed.
EDIT: I tested it in identical environments, there were no issues removing and/or adding the .pak and loading the save and breeding. It did revert the next attempted breed to the vanilla outcome once I removed the .pak. It also reverted back to the .pak file's outcome once it was returned.
Yes. We took the internal values, copied them, and then shuffled them around, essentially. Theoretically, you could have some breeds that result in vanilla outcomes, but it is a random process to recreate the ecosystem of breeding.
The exception being Pals that the game already had labeled "Unique" such as Legendary pals and Some rarer elemental types. They cannot be bred outside of the combinations the game has specifically defined in a separate place from the generic pool. I plan to work on an expanded mod that messes with these at some point in the near future, possibly adding them to the generic breed pool, among other options.

It used to work, but it's not working now
It comes out as the original combination
