Should be. There no reason why it wouldn't. I stopped playing a good while but the changes I've done here are very minimal which is why I don't look at patch notes anymore.
God this annoyed me just about as much as the skill checks on the way to Colphyr mine. I have no idea why they assumed that every main character would be specced into so many knowledge skills when almost all other dialogue skill checks let you use the party except for that one and for the book.
Thanks for making this mod and so many peoples lives easily in the process if they don't want to have a know it all character
I'm thinking of changing those too tbh but this is the one that just nagged me the most. Colphr mines at least gave you options for a single encounter but this.... this just nags me the most
The paradox is something I discovered later. What irked me the most was colphyr mines... not to mention the game has a system in place to allow you to choose which character to use for the skill checks (Like the Wasteland City with the Vescavors or that other one I don't remember) so the fact that player only skill checks being a thing in a game where your party is key puzzled me. I should really get to patching the colphyr trip while I'm at it.
Thank you for this mod, this really puzzled me the first time I did this book. Up till this point every check is a party based combination check.
However out of the blue this one very important part of the game has SOLO only checks, as my first char was a crit/trickster Viv I had checks for 1 or 2 of them.
It annoyed me so much that I didn't make it I reloaded a save prior to book opening and gave myself the correct check points with Toybox.
I would note this down as an essential mod imo, unless you run an encyclopedia build with full int and nothing but points to throw around.
Thanks a lot for the kind words. I kinda know their argument for this being player only. Seeing how the theme is how you're a curious gent like Areelu and what not but in a game where party comp is key it just felt weird.
I might release a different version of the mod that also does the same to Colphr Mines ship sail checks too but who knows what I'll do
1) Don't think I follow but if you're asking if there player only and not party wide I think that would be the journey to Colphyr mine. That one atleast had multiple options and in my normal playthrough I got em all except for that last one so it didn't bother me as much as the lexicon of paradox
2) Would you care to elaborate more? Not sure I understand by layer for check
I got my hands on the second part just now and figured it out on my own. The rest are world, arcana and nature I think. And you need to pass all of them(
Yeah there are 4 lore checks and you need to pass all of them to get access to a 5th perception check which is also a player only thing. The mod changes all 5 to be party wide. There's an argument to make the perception player only due to how important perception is but I made it this way for consistency's sake
I didn't touch the Lexicon on my first playthrough so I don't know the context of this scene, but there's plenty of other scenes that use the whole party's skills yet describes the actions as if the Commander is the one who did it. Plus the whole thing that makes the Commander better than their "creator" is that they're not doing it alone, gathering a good team is half the battle! So I wouldn't consider this cheating tbh
(I didn't realize until I typed this that I love this game a lot because it reminds me of Mass Effect in a lot of ways lol)
Mostly why I opted to make it party wide instead of removing it all together. This relaxes the constraints way more while still keeping it in check. Was thinking of changing all the solo checks I find and add toggles but this is the one that nagged me the most because of how it forces me into a specific build
