World area art backgrounds were AI upscaled with deep neural networks to 5x resolution (for example, approx 20K resolution for large area maps) and then resized back down to fit the game. This is not a drastic improvement but helps recover some pixel and sub-pixel details from the original compressed files. This covers 40 of the main area backgrounds in the game.
This mod is written for the Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition (PSTEE).
Step 1.
Locate your Planescape Torment installation folder. This is the folder that contains Torment.exe.
For Steam release, this is thereabouts: Steam\steamapps\common\Project P
Step 2.
Create a new folder in your Planescape Torment folder a.k.a. the Project P folder. Call this folder: override
Step 3.
Copy the files from the download into the override folder.
