Andrewsarchus is literally one of my favorite extinct animals, thank you so much for making this!!! I first saw it in the game fossil fighters and it has had my heart since.
Every time cake releases an extinct species my heart sanks the way it did when Frontier release a lackluster pack, but even more, because so much potential was lost.
Why Cake ? Is it something anyone really cares for with Planet Zoo? PK is stylistically leaps and bounds above anything PZ currently is, their world building annihilates PZ. So basically anyone that ones to built a zoo with prehistoric creatures has the best looking game ever already, why try it with the lesser PZ?
The worse thing of PK is that is about extinct species not real zoo animals, so much for cake to make in PZ, why waste time and skill with trying to bring extinc species to a lesser graphic game?
It is like dumping fine wine in a river hoping to see it grow, you are wasting the excellent wine and wine does not mix with water.
Sometimes I come here just to see if cakemods released something new, only to be disappointed by more make believe animals. I think whoever is paying for them is to blame though, but he got to make that money so
Bro, I like PK a lot but saying PK is better looking and a better game than PZ is f*#@ing stupid. PK is still in early access while PZ is a fully released game with pretty much all the content it's gonna get from the official devs. PZ also is way better looking the PK, but I will say that one is just an opinion and you can think otherwise. But just because you think PK is better than PZ that doesn't mean you b&@*$ on a modder's page posting a f*#@ing Andrewsarchus mod. It ain't that deep pal, plus, why are you even in a PZ Nexus page if you are just gonna b&@*$ about PZ being worse in everyway than PK? Just asking, lil bro.
I think it's great that he creates mod for extinc animals as well. It gives us options to do things differently. You want to create a zoo for Extinct animals? You can do it. You want a normal zoo? You can do it. Mods gives us options to try something new.
I proudly take the "blame"! I just love extinct mammals and mammal-like synapsids more than I love extant speces - I would say my favourite animal of all time (i.e. from the Hadean to now) is Paraceratherium transouralicum.
I do agree that the reconstructions of most extinct animals are based on speculation and one's creativity - to a greater or lesser extent depending on completeness/state of fossils we have found. Essentially, this is paleo-art in form of a mod - but nobody claimed I or GreatCakeMods were engaging in scientific research or anything like that.
Regarding Prehistoric Kingdom: The game, focused on dinosaurs, is still in Early Access and we don't know if we will ever be able to mod new species into it. And there definitely are people who want to see extinct species in Planet Zoo. Thus I will continue commissioning extinct species (mostly Cenozoic ones, but also some Mesozoic or Paleozoic ones) for Planet Zoo. But don't worry, GreatCakeMods is also making some extant species. I have for example commissioned an Egyptian mongoose.
PK needs to grow more for it to be better than PZ extinct mods, they need COMBAT, ENRICHMENT, MORE DINOSAURS, PTEROSAURS, MARINE REPTILES, MORE BIRDS, MORE MAMMALS, MORE MAPS, LESS CRASHING, MODS, DIVING, AND FINALLY... FULL RELEASE!!! (Coming in 2096)
Bro, why are you talking about dinosaurs in a zoo game, your logic comes back at you as a bomeraang lil bro.
In all seriousness, PK I tried, didn't care for it because it is only make believe animals, but I like scenery and textures of ground even new plants are not cartonish like frentier. PZ visitors in parks look like minecraft pixels too. But yes PZ is more develop game of course, bigger budget at the time even if they can't care less now. For me it would be a finish PK game with the new textures and scenery of the DLCs and real animals the quality of Cakemods.
Maybe Cakemods cake design a game with some crowfunding
Cake has over 100 mods… surely you haven’t built for all of them yet? This is such a weird mindset to have to be quite honest, she’s perfectly capable of putting whatever she wants, commissions or not, on her own page, free for everyone to use?
Fun Fact: We still know next to nothing about this animal beyond a significantly damaged partial skull; what it looked like and how it connected to the family tree remain entirely speculative... and thus any restoration is 100% made up...
EDIT: It's a nice looking mod, but I will never understand the fascination with animals like Andrewsarchus; we don't know what it was, let alone what it looked like... and any potential realistic reconstruction would fit a far more logical choice of animal.
LOL exactly, I can't even tell if anything prehistoric is a nice looking mod or not because how would anyone know what it is that is being modded? It is all someone's pipe dream of what some piece of bone looked like, just insanity to be honest.
For me is simple, with mods of zoo animals i like the feeling the art it transports me to see the real animal in a zoo, with the extinct species I don't know what I'm seeing, just a make believe animal, who knows what it look like, no one can really say. That's why I couldn't get into PK lol
oi sou brasileiro amo o seu mod de raposa andina mais eu queria um mod raposinha do campo caso nao esteja interessado tudo bem, exelente trabalho com esse porcão
I'm total loving this guy, such an odd and interesting species we still know so little about. I'm also loving the pictures taking inspiration from "Walking with Beasts", keep up the great work and don't let the haters get you down.
