Still working 9/27/22. Will be maintained- Currently OVERHAULING all animal variants, leaving default (regular and albino) vanilla, but ADDING new extremely HQ, realistic variants to all animals in the game starting with the DLC packs. Arctic edition currently being worked on.
Updated to version 1.5 on September 19th, supporting all 10 Planet Zoo packs + Anniversary. (So everything to date.) Until Planet Zoo Updates significantly again, it will remain working. All features still included, albino animals appearing sandbox boosted (about 2 per refresh.)
Wolf colors/wolves not fighting was scrapped for the sake of making the mod easier to update, and also because methods of adding mods to the game have expanded and I may poke around to investigate what else I can do. Edit: Working on adding rare coat variants to all base game animals that do not have one, and adding sensible realistic wolf color variants (true variants, not hue shifts) that are naturally spawned in creative. (Not as separate animals!!) We were not able to do this before, it is a new addition to the improved limitations of modding Planet Zoo.

Old versions of the mod got outdated and caused crashing, obviously. Removed forum posts about mod details and simply included them in the download itself.
hiya this is probably obvious and im so sorry for asking but im playing ver 1.2 of planet zoo, which version of this beautiful mod do i download for it to work please? if it can still work with such an old version ;u;
i have a fresh install of planet zoo (with all dlcs) i downloaded and followed the intructions but it keeps crashing the game on start up am i doing something wrong?
been trying to use the mod, would love to! But it still seems like it's out of date. I see no comments about it coming around anytime soon :( has the mod been abandoned or is it going to be a possible WIP for the future?
I was looking forward to this mod as it looks and sounds amazing, but unfortunately this no longer seems to work with current game version and just issues a crash report. As soon as I removed the mod the game loads fine.
I appreciate the hard work you put into this and I hope there comes an update soon.
I know modding takes a lot of time, I dont wanna rush somebody :)
Just wanan ask if there is any ETA for the 1.6 update.. If im correct the last update is for the conservation pack?
And is there any possability to see whats inside the mod? Colour variations for animals until version 1.5 and stuff? or is this something new in thi mod?
Will it work with the Timberwolf Remaster and Reindeer Remaster Mod?
Do you still plan on updating Safari Edition? If not, do you have any idea how difficult it'd be to make similar changes to the predation behaviors for a new modder? Thanks!
Just update the game and launch the game, your zoo wont corrupt/break the mod will just be gone. As this affects value inputs for logic and does not add assets/scripts to the game, it will not break your zoos if you made a save using this mod and then removed this mod and launched the save.
If for some reason you were to get a crash when loading you would want to delete your main.ovl files from content folders, reverify game files, and launch again. (Shouldn't happen but like all things, if it does.)
No they are both trying to use the same files. They are essentially the same mod with different flavors- this one only alters exhibit sizes for 'problem' animals like polar bear. The minimum vegetation is left alone, no rollercoasters, we used different animal size preferences, mine has panda twins and a few group size changes (like wolves going up to 24, if you're so inclined), different albino rates, and a ton of differences.
Play the one that suits your play style most! A lot of people missed this mod when it went out of date for months, so PZ+ got popular as mods finally, finally got popular too and I'm very happy for that.
