You can make jhon have the same aiming animation as the npcs similar to arthur the npcs aim just like arthur is a recycled movement and run the same with that luxury you have all the animations of rdr 2 in the 1 because they are recycle most
Hmm, I tried criminal.was instead but still got the knife bug on the first animal I skinned. It's worth noting, the knife bug doesn't occur 100% of the time in my experience, but most of the time. It's also possible framerate plays a role in whether or not the issue occurs. Are you playing at 60fps or higher?
I capped my game to 120 since my refresh rate is 120hz.Though I only tried to loot one corpse after applying it. There are other animations to try tho, the mod on gamebanana also doesn't touch picking herbs, so those could also be sped up as well.
Yeah, picking herbs doesn't work at all when replaced. Speeding it up essentially just skips the entire interaction. You don't pick it at all. As for the knife bug, it's only during skinning. I think the game literally equips the knife during the animation, and essentially skipping the process leaves the character with it equipped. Not sure that there's any way around it unfortunately, at least with this method of replacing animations.
Ultimately, the best possible implementation of this sort of mod would be to get the game to just disable the animations in the first place. The game does already have this in a way, as a fallback of sorts where it lets you loot without the animations when the lootable object you are trying to interact with is blocked and your character can't quite physically get to it. If someone can change the game logic to flag lootables to always act in that way, then that would be perfect. But I don't know how to do that personally, as that's beyond my current knowledge of the game and its engine.
Yeah, I just tried many combinations doesn't matter which animation you use, animation doesn't actually play when they get swapped. Behavior is the same. Tried swapping skinning.was with skin_scraper.was and picking_herbs.was with pluck_feathers.was. Funny that the western is made out of spaghetti.
MagicRDR doesn't work at all. i have to run it in admin mode and doesn't just let me drag and drop. i really hope modding for this game gets easier MagicRDR sucks!
Running as admin will stop drag+drop working, try copying the rpf file you want to edit to your desktop, then open magicrdr without admin and open the desktop file you copied, then edit it and copy it from desktop back to game folder
go grab reality reimagined and do what it says in its "read me" after downloading. then follow the step here to replace the animation skip. (its alot easier with reimagined since you download one 300mb mod and it does it all for you, this mod does not interfere with it!)
A version that speeds up the animation by 25/50/75% instead of skipping it would be awesome! Also, unsure if bug or not implemented yet. But this doesn't work with plants.
+1. It also completely makes the animal corpses disappear now when you skin them. Normally the skinned corpse is still on the ground after the animation is complete.
