UPDATE 12012019: a new version V1.71 just added: >small default value correction >Added Dark-Level adjustment inside Reshade UI. (slide it to minus (-) for brighter and plus (+) for darker).
UPDATE 11302019: a new version V1.7 just added: >bring back hyper realistic lighting and colors that appeared in version 1.0. >Added color saturation adjustment inside Reshade UI. (slide it to minus (-) if you still feel the default color is too strong for you). >Stripped away unnecessary detailing shader that made image over-sharpens
UPDATE 11282019: a new version V1.5 (Lite version) just added. >Some shaders were stripped down. Light-Booster and 3D Stereoscopic only available in "Beyond Ultra" version.
How to adjust color saturation and dark-levels : - press END button on your keyboard to show up Reshade UI - Color: Slide the Saturation bar to change the value (default = 0.00) to match your liking. You may slide it to minus (-) to less saturate color, or plus to get vivid colors - Darkness: Slide the Dark-level bar to change the value (default = 0.00) to match your liking. You may slide it to minus (-) to brighter or plus to get darker image.
Thank you for this! This is the first reshade that works for me. All the others won't let me access the reshade menu cause its usually set to the home button and that just opens up the social club in game. Even one with the reshade button as the page up button didn't work. This is great!
Don't want to sound daft but is the 3D you're showing in the Download file actual 3D? Like for 3D TV's or? Can I still use it or should I download the "Lite Version" as there's no mention of 3D ?
Hey Chris, awesome work, probably the best one currently available. Noticed the new patch allows for rdr2.exe to start without launching from the R* Launcher - can it be possible for ReShade to use Vulkan instead ? I tried the BAT file and it launched but failed to load ReShade. also it is normal to lose 10 % GPU power when using ReShade?
Hi mate, thank you for willing to try my modest mod; and the information related to newest update from R*.
can you explain how you run RDR2 without R* Launcher? Since I was trying here, but still failed to run it (even without Reshade). is that patch officially from R*?
Little bit of confusion on my end sorry, the game used to launch only when launching from R* Launcher, the desktop shortcut and rdr2.exe would fail to launch prior to the patch. I don't have the game with Epic Launcher so maybe that's why. I was able to make .BAT file with ReShade installer and was able launch the game with the .BAT file but the vulkan libraries did not load with ReShade. After reading your latest post I have found that using Tonemap, AdaptiveSharpening with TAA & fake HDR really make this game shine. I did lower some saturation to around 200 and found it was sweet spot, I didn't realise how this game really depends on HDR TV'S. Folks without HDR displays should use the fake HDR within Reahade to help with washed out images from original game. :D
Crosire and Thalixte still working to make Vulkan run with RDR2; I hope their will release it in a few days (or weeks). https://github.com/crosire/reshade/pull/160
I have built Reshade based on the latest changes on the github, and vulkan seems to work now. So if you can't wait for an official updated version, you can get it here https://github.com/mLgz0rn/reshade/releases/tag/v4.4.2.805
Your Anti-Virus might call out a Trojan but it's just a false positive, this is to be expected since it's an injector and the file has not been submitted for whitelisting at the major antivirus vendors, which crosire usually does before a release. Holy-cow! This mod is so insane!! After playing with this ON, it's hard to go back to default. Deactivate it make me feel like playing on the lowest settings even on the highest ultra setting. LOL!
And the 3D stereoscopic run so beautiful on my LG OLED 3DTV!
Of course you can't start it since I think you still run RDR2 in Vulkan API. (as mention in the title, this mod only support DirectX12)
How to switch it: You can go to Settings > Graphics > (Scrolling down) Advanced Graphic > Advanced Settings = switch to Unlocked > Graphic API > switch to DirectX12
BUT before you do that, don't forget to open this folder and backup this file : Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings\system.xml
In case you got trouble with DirectX12, you may restore that "system.xml" to switch back to Vulkan API.
OR if you are an advanced user, you may doing this: Open Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings\system.xml and change the value of API to either kSettingAPI_Vulkan or kSettingAPI_DX12; vice versa! ;)
the reason I love to run RDR2 with DX12: in my system it run so fine and smooth since day one! Vulkan may has higher FPS, but the FPS more fluctuate, at least on my system here. I never face a single crash or stuttering with DX12 since day one. And I've got Reshade run so fine with RDR2 DX12 too! I think i was lucky! :) Let's waiting until Reshade officially support Vulkan for RDR2.
