Does anyone know why I sometimes get a white screen glitch that slowly fades in a pixelated way? Usually while in a canoe, but happened a few times on a horse.

2.2 doesn't have this glitch, but it gives me motion sickness for some reason.

I found the solution of the extra pixelated view and pixelated snow and rain. Its happening because of TAA. FSR has own AA itself. With FSR's AA + TAA enabled game gets fucked up. So you have to disable TAA after enabling FSR.

    STEPS:
    1. Just set your settings and enable your fsr mod then exit game.
    2. Go to " C:\Users\[YOURNAME]]\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings "
    3. Open " system.xml " file and edit it via notepad.
    4. Find "  <taa>kSettingLevel_ " under FSR then set it from " <taa>kSettingLevel_High " or "  <taa>kSettingLevel_Medium " to "  <taa>kSettingLevel_Low"
    5. Save the xml file and exit.

    Thats it! Enjoy your game.
About the sharpening thing, this mods sharpening is not working afterall. They need to fix that themselves.

<taa>kSettingLevel keeps resetting to high when game is launch. I tried editing it then save and check read only in properties so the game wont overwrite it but still no avail, TAA still in high ingame and rain is still pixelated.

    Hey all,

I followed all the instructions and installed the newest versions of lml and scripthook but my game just doesn't launch anymore. When deleting the files of this mod my game and all of the other installed mods run fine, so there is a problem for me with this mod in particular. I also tried to only load this mod to make sure there are no compatibility issues with other installed mods but it still doesnt work.

And btw the game version is 1491.18 and I own the game on the rockstar games launcher.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem? Maybe I am missing something.

Same version 1491.18 but on steam, here were my exact steps:

      1. Pick one of two ASI loaders:
      - dinput8.dll which comes with Script Hook RDR2
      - version.dll which you can download from rdr2mods website

      - I went with version.dll, https://www.rdr2mods.com/downloads/rdr2/tools/9-rdr-2-asi-loader
^ Download the rdr2_ASI_loader_02_2 zip, then extract to game folder.

      2. NVGNX.dll loader, it is used for RDR2 to mod FSR 2 into the game.
^ Download and extract the two files to the game folder.

      3. Download this FSR 2.1 mod and only extract:
      - Disable Signature Override.reg
      - Enable Signature Override.reg
      - nvngx.dll
      - nvngx.ini
      ^ run enable signature override.

      4. I recommend the updated FSR 2.2 from CyberFSR
      - https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3001
^ it further reduces the ghosting. I made some comparisons below.

      FSR 2.0 vs 2.1 ( ghosting )
      https://imgsli.com/MjAyMzQw

      FSR 2.1 vs 2.2 ( ghosting )
      https://imgsli.com/MjAyMzU4

      FSR 2.1 vs 2.2 ( Aliasing / ghosting )
      https://imgsli.com/MjAyODU4

FSR 2.1 vs 2.2 ( Aliasing in fast motion / disocclusion artifact )
      https://imgsli.com/MjAyOTQw
^ 2.2 aliasing with transparent objects ( trees & grass ) and the new disocclusion artifact that was introduced with 2.2 to combat ghosting.

Get the normal Cyber FSR 2.2, it's cleaner... don't get the Anti-Ghosting one, it has more flicker in motion.

      Only extract these:
      - Disable Signature Override.reg
      - Enable Signature Override.reg
      - nvngx.dll
      - nvngx.ini
^ They are separated in different folders originally but place them all together in the same game folder and run enable signature override.

Made another comparison between FSR 2.1 vs 2.2,
      https://imgsli.com/MjAyODU4
^ Zero flickering and shimmering on the church window, better anti-aliasing overall, and less ghosting on the moon and stars.

but you are right, I did notice aliasing on transparent objects (trees and grass) when moving the camera fast. I only paid attention to geometry aliasing and forgot about transparent aliasing. Still, I would pick 2.2 overall.
      https://imgsli.com/MjAyOTQw
^ Was moving the camera very fast here for testing. Aliasing and the new disocclusion artifact that was introduced with 2.2 to combat ghosting... 2 steps forward 1 step back with fsr 2.2

The lower your base resolution, the more struggle FSR has... compared to DLSS.
I'm playing at 4K downsample to 1440p, with FSR, that's why these artifacts are less noticeable. (20fps loss from native 1440p)

The problem with FSR 2.2 is that there's more shimmering and more "dlss" look to hair, especially the mascara effect to eyelashes at night near fire, lamps. It's not as bad as actual dlss, but it's there. Is there a way to fix it?  FSR 2.1.2 - doesn't have that issue at all. It produces a nearly perfect picture, BUT when you rotate the camera quickly around the player, there's artifacting, "glitch" effect, especially around hair, and that issue is absent in 2.2.

      Hey there.

Tried this method and I am continuously getting a "ERR_GFX_STATE: Please reboot and restart the game" crash at the same places in missions. Using vulkan, have newest scripthook/version.dll. Thoughts?

    Hello Friends,
    Please let me apologize firstly.
I am a complete novice here and my knowledge is nil in the problematics.
I recently bought RDR 2, I have a version 1491.18 and AMD FSR 2,0 is as mentioned in many of the posts really bad in terms of ghosting.
Now from reading here, I understand there is a chance to fix that adding FSR 2.2?
I would like to ask someone here a favor. Could any of you please write me a step by step guide on how to do that?
What to download and where? I was trying to figure this out on my own from here, but got lost.

    Thanks a lot!!!!

    my PC is
    I5 11400f
    GTX1080 ti
    16 gb ram

Hello, when I clicked the 'enablesignatureoverride' file it gives me an error that says " adding information can unintentionally change or delete values and cause components to stop working correctly. If you do not trust the source of this information red dead redemption 2 do not add it to the registry."
should i just continue or no?

I've been using the FSR 2.2 mod for a while, no major issues or crashes so far. However I'm not sure if I feel like it's much better than running the game at the native resolution, visually.

    I'm on a 6800 XT @ 1440p.

Running the game at the native resolution and 1.5x resolution scale (4k) with TAA on medium seems on par for me, albeit at lower fps of course.

I get 120-140 FPS with FSR 2.2 and in the 75-90 range without it. With Freesync etc. 75-90 fps is fine.

I get that FSR/DLSS is a godsent for people on lower end hardware.

Does anyone feel the same? Has anyone made a video to compare the visuals?
