already made a comment about this on rdr2mods but my after that restart game bug it just tells me im over the limit and doesnt let me play the game is there a way to disable this?. idk if this is a bug or not but figuring it works for other people i presume its not
No worries, you have to install an ASI Loader that is compatible with RDR2. For example, download and install ScriptHookRDR2 V2 from NexusMods, and after that, download and install this mod. All installation instructions are available on the description pages for both of the mods. If you run into any issue or need any clarification about something, please let me know!
Well, the mod did let me use graphics options, which i couldn't at vanilla cuz gpu limit, yes. And thts great. About message - low gpu vram limit.. well i see it doesn't appear same much often as before but i still see it time to time. About the feature which let user to not restart game for apply any option.. well tht doesn't work for me too. Message i finally disabled by using another mod, which created just for it. Im using them both as pair. Still didnt solve restart game thing but i adore your mod for disable vram limit mostly tyvm for that really. Perhaps i installed something wrong ofc. It happens =) Edit. English is not my native language. I just reread the description n realised so mod works as expected probably - i just translated some words by wrong way. Thank you for your mod again
I'm glad to hear you like it! Yes, the restarting of the game issue is unfortunate, and I haven't had the time to find a fix for it yet. It's nothing that you've done wrong with your installation, don't worry! As for the low VRAM limit message, yes this mod doesn't bypass that unfortunately. The mod only focuses mostly on the options menu, which is why you still see the forced restart message, and the low VRAM limit message. Hopefully I can find a better alternative at some point to tell the game globally (not just in the options menu) that no VRAM is being used =)
I'm not entirely sure what LOD issues you're talking about. It most likely doesn't fix any issues. This is just a simple mod that removes the VRAM limit from the graphics options, so you can switch graphics without the game telling you you're exceeding the limit.
oh, I'm trying to fix lod issues which is basically pop-in happening in hills which is very noticable. Facing towards a hill for example and looking the other way, then looking back, the hill reloads in slowly.
What rendering API are you using? DirectX 12 or Vulkan? You should try Vulkan, it should work better. Also are you sure you're not running into any VRAM limitations or anything?
Honestly the only problem I see would be either your CPU getting bottlenecked and as a result LODs not loading in properly, or you have your game on a HDD, or maybe you don't have enough RAM?
the biggest issue by using this mod for me is that I am unable to reenable autosave, I have to remove the asi, open the game, enable autosave again, restart the game, make sure it's properly activated now, and *THEN* readd the asi file
thank you, I dont have any other major issues besides that and the constant restarts to change settings, I mean I do sometimes get the slow loading textures but that's obviously expected from a mod to override the vram limit and all
yeah but like I said I pay no mind to that issue, it's an understandable side effect as your mod cant magically increase my ram or vram or anything like that
Hey, great job with the mod though having to restart is kind of a huge setback and also I'd like to have the VRAM count instead of it being 0 so I'd know how much over the VRAM limit i am
Yeah, I wish I knew how to only remove the limit without affecting these other things... I'll have to search for an alternative to how I'm doing it right now.
Hello, I was wondering if this mod still works because I want to try it. I'm using the "Circus Method" when playing RDR2 setting my display to 4k and using the in-game upscale to set it to 1080p. It sometimes uses all 16GB of my VRAM and then crashes, so I want to see if this mod can solve that problem.
Sorry for a really late reply, but when I put the .asi file in my game folder and open the game, go to settings and try to change settings above my VRAM limit the game says it's above my VRAM and I can't apply because of stability. (I have an asi loader).
The mod didn't load then. Are you sure you installed the ASI loader correctly, and that it actually loads .ASI files? Can you check the ASI loader's logs?
Crash is caused due to clash with steam and rockstar overlay. Rockstar has entire screen overlay similar to steam. Funny it suppresses it self (partially) when steam overlay is active. But not good enough. When ever achievement pops up game will crash. Only viable solution right now is to turn off steam overlay. P.S heaving 4090 nvidia with s#*! ton of vram doesnt help. It crashes eitherway.
