Everytime i play is okay it doesnt crash but when i teleport myslef to another place the game crash and get out of the game.... i teleport with rampage trainer.... i had alot of files in stream folder and i delete them all (all diffrent horse brands)... will now game work without crashing when i teleport with rampage trainer??
So just to clarify, This game config will allow me to use Why'ems and RDO without losing All the wildlife and trains? or is it just the train fix? Also It says nothing more in terms of OVERHAULS and ITEMS Does this mean mods like ragdolls or weapon rebalances or new mechanics? or does this mean like graphic overhauls?
hey tkoul i have some feedback on your gameconfig since i tested it and the dumb ass one that syyyke made both gameconfig on old or even fresh install can't take a train ride idk why that is i think because of that custom text you put in since if i try say stutter fix it works fine on old install i had a good bit of mods i edited your config to work with it also tried just default one no edits and on clean install brand new document folder no mods just vanilla game i tested over all scripthooks and asi loaders i commented on syyykes mod but he blocked me and removed my comment since he got toxic. From my testing with the different sets of gameconfigs the game runs differently for different rigs for some users lots of mods and trains still spawn little to no mods and the trains wont spawn in for them some users can use your added text in the config gives error f its just takes time to find out what your system does, this is just feedback to help improve your mod you did a good job on it i hope to see it get even better with time
also, i did everything you did in sticky comment just so i know its installed correctly
Edit: when testing the mod the game did error f like how you said for the first couple of launches but for me was 10 after i got the error from taking a train ride i kept getting them now the mod error its like 1 in like 30th chance the game would load but from messing around for a hour error f same goes for fresh install as well only installed rampage to make the hour go by faster since all i did on the old install of run around shoot a town up with rampage on fresh install same test also same test for train ride go into town post office buy ticket to riggs station and i get error f when it goes to black screen
I installed this mod to fix the trains (i've never had a FFFFF error), but now when i load the game for first time (after 20th try) my mods don't work, when i load it second time mods do work, except all of the Whyems clothes are gone and i need to buy them again. This happens again every time i start my pc, even after i deleted this gameconfig mod So i thought someone might help me with this problem?
Thanks for sharing this config! Here's some information about the ongoing issue with disappearing characters and the general instability of the game when using many texture mods. Game logic will be broken (ie trains will not spawn, animals will partially not spawn, peds in general will be less common in cities and will not exist on trolleys), guaranteed if you use mods that: 1. streaming their textures (and possibly drawable data files, .ydr) and not fully replacing texture dictionaries (.ytd) in game archives on game load. This described in details by dominatorgt in Terrain Texture Overhaul comments section. Overall recommendation - make your own install.xml with proper mod data loading methods. 2. have non compressed ARGB textures in their texture dictionaries and/or not properly upscaled to more than 2x vanilla textures resolution. Even if p.1 is resolved, you will still have all possible problems while the textures are not optimized for the game engine. The engine just can't process that much data and becomes overloaded. The overall recommendation is to extract the textures from .YTD files with OpenIV / CodeX, downscale them if necessary and compress them using NVTT or a similar tool using the baseline: - Albedo or detailed textures (usually with _ab at the end of the filename, but it could be without a marker too) - BC7_UNORM (BC7_UNORMSRGB if the original texture has this format to avoid problems with color levels being different) - Normal Maps - BC1_UNORM - Materials textures and other two-color textures (ma, mb, ct, etc., and basically all others) - BC3_UNORM. All original game textures are compressed for a reason. In the game, you will never notice any difference between the BC7 compressed texture and the non-compressed ARGB texture. However, the amount of data processed by the game engine is reduced by at least two times for each texture (it could be up to four times if BC1 is used). Make your own calculations and be reasonable when considering the model of the squirrel and deciding to create a 4096 x 4096 albedo texture for it. 3. using non optimal overall texture dictionary packing. Like when you have a material texture for an animal's teeth with a 4096 x 4096 resolution. You don't need to upscale every texture in the game to 5-10 times to see and feel good quality on the screen. Be reasonable and research which textures do what for the overall look of the model in the game and which textures you should upscale.
Since I recently started playing again and encountered this issue on my own, now I've created automation tools for my convenience, including texture processing (compression and downscaling with texconv and NVTT), install.xml generation script with conversion from full file paths to mounting points in LML and removal of possible duplicates after conversion, Texture info and duplicate search for tracking missing textures from packing data (manual labor only, unfortunately) using CodeX/OpenIV-RDRTT-RedM, and now I have a decent modlist with upscaled textures for almost every game part, WhyEm DLC (compressed and install remade myself) and overall understanding which texture mods can't just be used within other texture mods and sometime even by themselves alone (looking at you, Weapon Texture Upscale with 4096x4096 and even 8192xX size uncompressed textures).
You absolutely can and should use many different texture mods for your playthrough. You just need to carefully select each one and, before the authors optimize their mods, you need to do some data manipulation yourself. Gameconfig changes are absolutely necessary, but this is just one part of the overall process for the game to work properly with many different mods.
I did the exact same pretty much but im using OpenIV, CodeX and Paint.net to compress the textures to BC1. I just wanted to try and fix the game as much as i could so people who don't have access to these tools or don't know how to compress textures and what not.
You are best, but I would like to give you some friendly advice. If you allow me, be careful when using BC1 for detailed textures. Details and even colours can sometimes be lost after compression from ARGB format, and will require tinkering with colour levels. BC7 usually doesn't have this problem, and it offers a trade-off in terms of size (2x smaller instead of 3.5x/4x compared to BC1).
Is there a possibility of sharing your adjusted mod files via google drive one day? Or maybe a guide on what to do with your selection of mods to avoid the spawn issues?
Even changing the file paths to replace the textures instead of streaming I've never had luck with any of the overhauls. Unfortunately I can't guarantee anything if you don't do exactly as instructed.
