Thank you for making this mod. Idk why everything and everyone was so quiet even with my speakers and settings cranked all the way up. Now I can clearly make out what people are saying, and the weapons sounds just hit so much harder. Anyway, thanks to the creator.
How should I adjust my settings if I want the gunshots to be much lower than everything else? We play on my TV, and once everything sounds as if it's of equal volume, a deafening shot will be fired and it's always 50x louder than anything else.
The sound of dialogue (inside and outside of cutscenes) and the score are of utmost priority. I'd be happy never to hear another gunshot again.
You'd have to make a mod that changes the volume of the gunshot audio files themselves, gunshots and dialogue are both attached to SFX volume, you can try setting Dialogue Balance/Score Volume up, though I find that Dialogue Balance setting to be kind of useless and not affect all the dialogue.
It shouldn't be too difficult though I haven't done it myself lol. What I would do though is see how another mod that replaces the gun audio works, and go from there. Then you just need to rip the .awc files using something like OpenIV, I know a foobar2000 plugin can listen to them, edit them in something like audacity using the amplify effect with a negative value. Of course I'm probably oversimplifying it a bit.
Just wanted to say thank you! I was having low audio problems with the game for my first ever playthrough and this completely fixed them. Can finally enjoy it! Thank you thank you
Alright so i put the replace folder into LML, and my audio menu is exactly the same and there's no volume difference. I restored to default and redid my settings but it's basically the same still, gotta up the windows volume to like 90 for the game to be playably loud.
Blank as in there were no options in the menu at all, even the word Audio disappeared from the Settings menu. Clicking on what's supposed to be the Audio settings just revealed a completely blank page. Even trying to Restore Defaults did not work. But your first version works great, I'm using that right now with no issues.
Since you're more knowledgeable, do you know if Dialogue Balance actually increases ALL voices? Not just during cutscenes? This is actually really important because of my hard of hearing gf and even if I lower the "Sound volume" but leave Dialogue Balance at max it feels like voices are still quite low in-game at times. Pretty weird, a lot of other game are much better at this. (Playing on a 7.1 surround setup btw)
The vanilla max for dialogue balance is 5, and I set it to 100 in the mod. SFX volume is also tied to the voices so SFX + Dialogue Balance = final voice volume. Try it out.
Yeah, the steps are tiny though, they're 1 by default correct? Would a Step of 5 be better probably?
I gave it a quick try yesterday and it improved a bit but not as much as I thought it would, gonna test it further today. It's just the way R* mixed the audio is weird in that sense. Voice shouldn't be tied to SFX lol not even music
For anyone like me who wants to adjust faster, just add this item and enter the change value <step value="x"/> Should be 1 when no new items have been added yet (I guess)

I might just manually edit the gunshot audio files myself, then. Is it awfully difficult to do so? I'm willing to learn.
Thank you for the response, by the way.
,启用了 mod,打开游戏发现音量没有变化
EDIT: Specifically this happens with your second preset, version 1.0.1

Is this something I can fix with your mod?
