hey good mod again! would love to use it but I don't want to remove Huntsman mod which uses the same file as your mod loot_items_matrix.meta.. any guidance on what lines to modify for merging? would understand if there are too many lines to merge that's why you didn't put it in the description/pinned comment like usual in your mods lol just asking by chance
Thank you for the kind comment, I did not know this file was popular in mods so I didn't write ang merge directions, but you can try open my file, search for 20, and then just copy this line into all the the similar areas in the other files, tell me if that is easy, if not, I will try to make a comment with how to do it or edit more specifically
whenever I come back to the game I always check out the mod you release, I think I have most installed or merged in some ways, always good QOL imo
thanks!~ so I looked at the file and searched for 20.. I think they're only for the egrets, spoonbills and herons, how about the herbs?
edit: nvm the question on the herbs, I saw it is on a separate file just need to use it instead since I don't use herbalist anyways
to those who will try to merge it with other loot_items_matrix, change Quantity value='N' to '20' for the following items (only change plumes/feathers not flight feathers/meats..)
I really appreciate the kind words thank you for that, also don't forget to do that for all conditions, poor good or perfect for all of them copy the line.
hey being kind should be the norm in any modding community (heck it should be the norm in the world lol), often times this RDR2 modding community becomes toxic between the big ego mod authors and rude users so it's always nice to see kind authors and users alike, respect goes in both ways like they say
Unfortunately I'm also having issues with this mod now that I have arrived in chapter 4. I use the mod herbalist which modifies the same file, "loot_table_herb.meta", so I figured they just had a conflict and herbalist prevented this mod from working correctly. But after disabling herbalist, this mod still does (almost) nothing for me. With 1 exception, I have always received 1 plume or 1 rare plant. Very frustrating. Would love if the author could test this further, or if anyone else could chime in on if the mod works for them. Thanks.
A little more info on my experience with this mod...while going through stage 1 of A Wasp's quest, the little egret did provide 10 plumes, but the reddish egret only yielded 1 for each kill. I couldn't test the snowy because I already had collected enough prior to beginning the mission. Now I'm on stage 2 with Wasp and have looted 5 herons and each time only got 1x plume. As stated before, the mod herbalist is disabled in LML and no other mods modify the same file, so I'm at a loss.
Would love to get this mod working. It, along with "No more grindy challenges", fixes one of the most annoying, time-conuming aspects of a full 100% run. Regardless, thanks good sir for for your efforts on this mod.
thank you for the feedback, I tried this mod multiple times and it is working ok, but I will check again, if you opened loot item matrix and looked for red as word, you will find I modified the values and everything is good, but I will try it again as soon as I can, sorry for that
Thanks again for looking into it. Not sure if it's something on my end or what.
I happened to find a nice spot with all three egret types next to each other. I got clean headshots with a varmint rifle on the snowy and little egrets. Both yielded 10x plumes. Unfortunately the reddish still gave just 1 plume. I did not hit it clean though if that matters. It took two shots and was reduced quality.
I did take a look at the file you modified and I see 20x for each reddish quality level so I don't see any issue with the mod. It's weird for sure. I have no other mod conflicts with that item matrix file.
Another update: I have looted about 10-15 herons and spoonbills and consistently get 1x plume. I looked in the file and both are listed as feathers, not plumes. Like it says Spoonbill feather rather than plume as shown in game? Is this correct? Probably is, just thought I should mention it since I have yet to get them to drop more than 1. Thanks
I am really sorry for this bad experience, I will definitely try again and see what is going on, maybe It is only made for the skin to be perfect like 3 stars? I will check that as soon as I can, I am very very sorry for that again!
Since herbalist is merged into this mod, can I remove it from my lml folder? Or do I keep both and assign this mod in higher (lower down the list) priority? Just want to be sure. Thanks again good sir.
Friend this update is amazing. Spoonbills and all three egrets yielded 10x plumes. Acuna's Star, Ghost, Rat Tail, and Lady of the Knight orchids also yielded 10x. And the herbalist merge seems to work perfectly too. Common bulrush and Oleander provided 3-6x per loot.
The only issue I did notice was that the one Heron I came across only provided 1 plume. I'm positive it was a one star (poor) heron though, so the 2-3 star herons may be fine. I looked for more herons to test, but unfortunately the game is being difficult right now with their spawns. Despite sleeping, fast traveling, and reloading the game, I only came across the one. Idk if all 1 star birds are affected, or just the herons, but 1 star herons are the only issue I found with the mod after about an hour of looking for all the affected orchids/birds.
If I come across any other issues, I'll be sure to drop a comment and let you know. Like I said though, 2.0 is fantastic. This will make this mission so much less of a pain on my 100% runs.
Checked into the file and found that herons and spoonbills are only giving extra plumes on "good" (2-star) carcasses and not on "perfect" (3-star) carcasses. If you edit the file in notepad and copy over the line <Quantity value="20" /> to each of the perfect DamageQuality Items it'll make it easier
Now that i'm doing the lists it seems like it doesn't always work on some birds like herons spoonbills little egrets and snowy egrets its basically a low chance it gives 10 plumes
Are you sure that when collecting the required requests it does not work? I have tried it multiple times and it is working fine, check if you are collecting the right birds and that there are no file conflicts.
I looked for it in some files but did not find it, it is very possible to be done but needs some search, or maybe I missed it in other files. I was going to look again but figured it is 25 eggs for one time request so I thought it is ok.
Trust me 25 is too much. At best the one perfect location can give 5+3+3=11 (cooking side quest with butcher from camp) As for the rest you really have to cross country couple times. And they dont seem to be respawning. Or they dont follow game timers. But spawn only after main story advances in days.

Edit: Got it to work by checking overwrite box in mod manager.
Thank you for the mod this will be useful in 100% run
Nonetheless, I am happy it worked, I hope you take your time and enjoy everything!
Thanks tho
maybe I look again if you have some time for sure
