I have no idea how to make this MOD work. I have tried loading through Vortex and saving on my pc and trying to save it in the save file location and cannot get it to work - little help?
I think the easiest way to use these files is to just straight download the archive file (no need for Vortex) to your desktop, open it, and drag and drop them from the archive into your save file folder. If that's not working for you then I'm at a loss for an explanation, but just to clarify, on a PC the save files folder should be the following:
C:\Users\TheNameOfYourPC\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\C6B27831
The actual name of the final folder probably won't be C6B27831, but something similar. Just drag and drop the save files I created into that folder but remember that you might have to delete the save files you already have in there, so back them up if you want to keep them.
Oh, and FYI, my files aren't technically mods. A mod actually changes (MODifies)the game itself by altering the program in some way. These are basically just plain old save files that I'm sharing.
Don't know if you've figured it out yet, but you have to drop the files in a folder that's in my documents: C:\Users\PCName\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\C6B27831
If you use OneDrive: C:\Users\PCName\OneDrive\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\C6B27831
I copy pasted the saves to the designated folders, because for some reason the game deleted my progress so the folder with the saves are all gone. Now that I just pasted it, it doesn't seem to reflect in-game because it just brings me to the first mission again.
First, are you sure you're dropping the files in the right place? You said, "the folder with the saves are all gone". If the actual folder where the game puts the save files was deleted, then you can't be putting the files in the right place because the right place has been deleted, if that makes sense.
I'm guessing you just need to get the game to restore the folder by playing far enough for an automatic save file to be created, then you can place the save files in the proper folder.
Thank you very much! Your saves are exactly where I left the game while playing on the PS4 and never got around to re-playing it on PC and now I can finish the game thanks to you! :)
For some reason these saves aren't showing up in-game for me after I've dropped them in my save game folder. I drag and drop the files into my save folder, they are physically present in the folder, Windows offers me the replace prompt, I accept, they just don't load in-game. for clarification; I'm running a modded save game and I've tried overwriting other saves only for this save file to wipe the save i did have but then not replace the file. I've tried multiple different saves from the file but I have had no luck with any I've tried thus far. I have, (for the record) done this before with another fella's save game from chapter 6 for John and i had no issues, a vanilla save as well. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much.
Hmm. Do you use OneDrive? This is my best guess. My PC actually has two places that it can use for keeping save files. There's the old:
C:\Users\PCName\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\C6B27831
The name of that last folder might be a different series of letters and numbers for you. And if you're using OneDrive its:
C:\Users\PCName\OneDrive\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\C6B27831
Beyond that, I've always wondered if all PC versions of the game use the same names for the files. With my game, the save files start with SRDR300**, with the "**" being a number from 00 to 15. Do the save files that your game produces start with SRDR300? If not, you might just need to change the names of the files to match the naming format your game uses.
Those are the best guesses I have for you. I hope they help.
thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. I appreciate you so much for providing a safe file like this. I was dreading having to play through the whole story just to do one thing, so this has been a life saver. You are a real MVP!
Hmm in this saves did you do Sister Colderons missions in chapter 4? Cause I heard you need to do those to get a heartwarming scene (according to my friend)?

Good luck and let me know if it worked.
