So, so sorry. I had medical problem that I've been tending to and I haven't even opened RDR2. I'll post the mostly finished game soon. I say "mostly" because I've completed everything except the stranger missions, I believe. It's been so long that I'm not sure where I left off. So, stand by, because it's definitely coming.
Oh man take your time, hope you're doing alright. Wishing you good health! I wanted to do stranger missions and everything else except story missions myself. You see these are my saves: https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/158?tab=description I completed everything I could in them so there's really no more fun to be had lol I wanted a save with every missable thing completed and only story missions done until chapter 4 mission "American Fathers" before all s#*! goes south in the story and all gang members at that time are in camp. Thought it'd be cool if I had all the random encounters still available and I could just free roam and do all the side stuff you know :) Anyways, wishing you all the best!
Oops. If you read the original reply disregard that. I got my "mods" (save series) mixed up. I have no idea what could be causing your problem. If anybody else is or isn't having this problem, PLEASE let us know.
sorry I just learned that the bug was already in the game before, it's the "alligator pelt bug" but there's a fix for it so you're save is actually fine hehe sorry about that. thanks again for the hard work
is it ilegal, like if i add this and go on my online character, rockstar can ban me for something, was it used any type of cheat or the files going to somehow cause a vac or ban from rockstar if i join online multiplayer? idk if i was clear with my question, sorry
I actually don't know, since nobody has commented on if they got credit for any achievements by using my saves, especially the 70 (or however many) gold medal missions.
If you're using an Xbox or PlayStation, you'll have to download the RDR2 Save Editor to convert them to the proper format and transfer them. I'm using a PC so I don't know the details for that.
On a PC, go into your Documents folder, then Rockstar Games, then Red Dead Redemption 2, then Profiles. There should be a folder that looks like "C5BT8834" or some other seemingly random combination of letters and numbers. (C:Users/???/Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Profiles/C5BT8834). Your save files are in there. Move ore delete the save files currently in that folder and replace them with the save files from one of the folders in the download, such as Ch2a, Ch2b, or Ch2c. Or you can just move one file if that's all you want, as long as it doesn't have to same name as a save already in the folder.
I broke them up into separate folders like that because you can't have more the 14 save files in save files folder. I hope that helps!
Sorry for the late reply. Did I not get the Newsboy Cap? If not then I screwed something up. I intended to not miss any "missable" content. I'll check and get back to you.
I double checked and none of the hats were missed so far. You've got the Newsboy Cap, Classic Raccoon Mountain Cap, and Bucket Hat. I'm working a new complete set of saves (i.e. every mission in the game) and it will include all "missable" content. If that's what you were asking for, then hold tight, it's on its way!
Yeah, I have to go back. Way back. I basically have to start over. Getting this done exactly the way I want is difficult because there are so many details that can be missed or messed up. So give me a few days.
Just about all the skins and pelts you need for Peterson and the Trapper (if you choose to use them)
All stolen hats available in the beginning and a few that were cut from the game
All letters that you get from mugging people that are available in the beginning as well as some that Rockstar cut out but left in the files
9 out of 10 rock carvings
19 out of 20 dreamcatchers
28 out of 30 dinosaur bones (you can get the the ones in New Austin without mods or the save editor and finish the mission with Arthur)
And the Herbalist challenge will be finished.
All of that will be done before a single mission from chapter 2 is done. As soon as possible after that, the Gambler challenge will be done. All while getting all missable content, and more.
There are a lot of elements that have to be done just right, so I sympathize with your frustrations as well.
Eventually, yes. I'll be putting up a version 2 for the series of saves I posted of the entire game, with every single story mission and not a single random encounter. That's proving to be the most difficult thing overall this time. Last time I just generally went out of my way to avoid random encounters, but I still tripped several. This time I'm reloading the game and backtracking every time I accidentally initiate one. Thanks again for the support!
Yes, and it was a pain. I ride back in forth out of the southern edge of Valentine toward Citadel Rock, but you can't go very far without triggering an O'Driscoll ambush. It's a pain in the ass, but it's reliable.
The real pain in the ass is that I just learned that I screwed something else up and I'm going to have to replace the upload yet again. See the description.
Man wish I had the dedication you have haha. Also are you certain you did the bill williamson random encounter? I'm asking because when I did that the game counted it as a chance encounter in the progression list.
Sorry for the late reply. You are right, that does count as a random encounter, and so does the run-in with the skinny dipper when you're fishing with Kieran. If I omitted it before I included it with the last update. However, I once AGAIN have to go back, fix something, and update the file because of something I missed. I forgot to get the documents left behind at Micah's camp. If I have to update these saves a hundred times, I will get this right.
Thanks a LOT for the saves ! I also love roleplaying and due to chapters construction you always have to "leave something behind" when playing the next one so having a "best save possible" for all chapter is great :) !
That's news to me. I have no idea. It seems like some things carry over from past playthroughs, but for some reason that didn't? For example, the varmint rifle and pump action shotgun are always free (I don't think they were originally but I could be wrong), and I always start with the spurs trinket. But that one stumps me. Thanks for the support!
I was wondering when somebody would ask me that. I discovered a sort of glitch in the game that allows you to collect a basically infinite number of gold nuggets. No mods, no save editing needed. My Google-fu isn't very good, but it seems that nobody knows about this trick. Or at least, I couldn't find anybody talking about it. But again, I don't really know where to look to see if folk know about it without giving the details away at the same time.
Before giving those details away (which I really, really want to do), I went on to Reddit to get opinions on whether or not I should spread the word, and most people told me to keep my lips zipped since Rockstar would probably fix it.
Truth be told, it's completely unnecessary given that $3000 in gold bars are immediately accessible in the beginning of the game (some even respawn eventually), but I wanted to leave those for folk to find themselves.
Thanks for downloading and thanks for the feedback!
Great save, everything as advertised. Minor point - I noticed the dinosaur bone just NW of Van Horn hasn't been found. I assume it was left for easy access to grab and mail after picking up the quest. If so, I didn't see it mentioned in the notes or description. It took me a while to notice - I wanted the quartz chunk for crafting - almost went to New Austin before I scoured the map and spotted it.
I'd have prefered less cash, and not having the Legend of the East satchel - but hey, not having to get gold on Micah's stagecoach robbery is worth it. I usually finish the camp skins by early chapter 3 anyway. I still get to fill out the trapper - nice.
The herbalist and gambler challenges being done is also amazing. Avoiding all the random encounters is much appreciated. I bet that was fun. All in all, you removed most of the grind that I didn't like, only very minor issues that are personal preference. For example I would have preferred to roam around and gather my own stockpile of herbs and skinning for the camp can be fun to start with - but I tend to RP a survivalist type guy.
Much appreciated, and thanks for downloading! Yeah, What I do include and don't include is a difficult choice to make because I have no idea what most people's preferences are... which is why I plan to cover them all.
I'm working on a Ch.1 and 2 series that has none of the décor in the camp done, but throws in all stolen hats and looted letters (including some that can only be gotten with the save editor because they were cut from the game).
Best of all, IMO, it will have all the dino bones in New Austin located. It turns out there's a trick for that similar to the one for getting the herbs, and you can finish the mission with Arthur. That's very telling, because it means that Rockstar assumed that people would get into New Austin early, or else they wouldn't have had the actor that plays Arthur record that scene.
As for the money, skins, herbs, etc., I figured that for folk like yourself you can just get rid of it if you don't want it. The items can all be thrown away, and the money can be wastefully spent in several ways (horses, for example).
After I'm done with that series, I plan to do another "bare bones" series, that basically has nothing done except the story missions. But this one will be more like what you're describing. Nothing will be done except the grinding.
And I'll go back and fix the description. Thank for letting me know, and thank you very, very much for the feedback!

I'm nearly done though. This one will have:
