Some notes: - The folder in Mods folder must be BetterSagestone and has Scripts folder and enabled.txt in it - modify the mods.txt within the Mods folder to add the following line: BetterSagestone : 1- config.txt is the xp bonuses in percent. can be anything within reasonable limits, like 200 or 9000. Only modify the numbers in that txt
Thanks this made it work however I think only the concoction works and the ring updates the tooltip but does not increase XP gain. I didnt specifically test it but from leveling prisms it seemed that way when my concoction would run out. Not a huge deal though as the concotion is rather cheap and you can just buy it.
Got the mod to work to change the stated ring value. The mod doesn't change the actual earned EXP value though. It's the same.
Nevermind. With some more tweaking I got it to work. Had to enable it in the mods.txt file. AND had to reload the game plus unequip and equip. took all of that.
I installed this mod, after some trial and error I got the mod to show in game that sagestone and elixir say they give more xp, but I dont actually see an increase in xp game when farming for the prism. Any ideas why not?
@Killerkindness this is amazing, thanks for making this! This is even more useful now with Prisms. That being said, is there any way possible you could make a similar mod, or script, or something, that allows us to change the value of how much XP tomes give you? That would be absolutely amazing. Right now, thanks to my other mod, I'm able to spawn items such as tomes. Previously, I'd spawn tons of tomes to fast level -- this would still take 30-45 mins, but being able to spawn 1 tome and be done with leveling, without having to even leave Dwell in the ward to level by killing something, would be amazing!! <3
@Killerkindness, I'm not sure what's going on, but modifying the XP gains to be too high seems to break prisms. Any prism that gets experience from this suddenly can't be cleansed. Like, if I try to fully cleanse it, it prompts me with a text warning as always, and I click yes (to proceed), it makes the noise like it cleansed, but nothing happens. I've tested and I can cleanse prisms that didn't gain experience via this mod, and they cleanse normally. I also tried touching the world stone, rebooting the game, but the affected prisms will NOT cleanse. Luckily, I saved a backup before testing, so no issue. Has anyone else experienced this, too? It can't be just me. I don't get why this would happen just because you gained lots of XP. It makes no sense to me.
Any ideas? I'd love to use this mod, but I'm concerned about bricking my prisms to where I can't ever cleanse them.
Note: I also tried a range of values for the XP boost, even when they were low enough where they'd only gain a handful of late game levels per kill, it'd still lock the prism. The same was true at higher values that pretty much instantly max out the prism. :(
@theorochocz Yes, my backup fixed everything. Make sure you're using the "profile.sav" backup. That's the save that contains all character progression, loadouts, items, prisms, stuff like that. The "save_#.sav" only contains world data, such as adventure mode data, campaign data, and your quest items. It doesn't contain anything about your actual characters.
I've been lazy lately, instead of just isolating out those two files for backup I've been copying the contents of the folder and copying all of it.
Anyway, I'm guessing you experienced what I did, too? I had to straight up remove this mod because the over abundance of XP was, for some reason, breaking the prisms. I don't know how to fix it outside of loading a backup.
It turns out this is an effing bug in the game in general right now. There's a bug where sometimes it won't let you reset (cleanse) your prism. It doesn't always happen. I'm betting this mod is entirely safe to use. They have to fix their shit. This bug is really annoying.
