Can anybody check whether your game will crash when approaching dark room hallway from west office?
I have a suspicion, that on a high resolution (like 4K) and at 144Hz refresh rate, with either variable or maxed out fps settings, the game will crash to desktop, sometimes with some noticeable fps lag right before crash. Limiting fps to 60 resolves the issue.
This is of course on RT version/DX12.

Mine crashes there as well at 120 fps.

Hi, does it work with DX12 or just DX11?

Does anyone else have a lot of issues with overly sparkly reflections and strobing overhead lighting when running the game with RT? I don't know if it is from this mod or another, or maybe just the nature of the RT in this game. But the strobing issue is something new. Turning off Screen Reflection doesn't seem to help.

Sounds similar to the issues caused by reframework's DLSS implementation when Bloom is enabled. If you use reframework DLSS or DLAA, you either need to disable that or disable bloom to get rid of the sparkles.

How did you update this mod for the RTX update? I went looking for tutorials, because there are a few mods I'd like to try to make an unofficial update for, but I have no idea where to start.

It's really simple now, the latest version of Fluffy Mod Manager will automatically convert old RE texture mods to the Ray Tracing format if you attempt to install an old mod with the RT version of the game. Alternatively, you could open the old textures in a HEX editor and manually update their header data for RT.  But there's really no reason to do this as Fluffy can do the same RT conversion for you in seconds, lol.

Old RE animation mods are much harder tho, you would need to update the animations to the new Ray Tracing format manually in 3D Studio Max 2017 (afaik newer versions won't work).

Does this only work for texture mods, then? I've tried to install a couple outfits this way and none of them have worked, but I'd assume they also modify meshes.

Yeah afaik it's just for texture mods, not all mods.

Any chance you have a tutorial on editing the header data for mods to update them to the RT version?

I have RTX 3080 with 32GB of RAM and I can only put the graphics to 2GB (orange minor bugs). Once I go over that (red serious bugs) the game chugs. Any suggestions? Maybe lower other settings? Currently everything else is max.

You could try lowering the resolution or super sampling (if playing in VR).

I have an RTX 3060 12GB and I am able to run with pretty high settings and 6GB graphics without going into the orange. I am running in 1440p.

Hey there, thanks for the mod, this a lot of work.

I'd like to add a bit of (hopefully) constructive criticism though, considering that I've been a CGI Artist for 10 years +, specialized in modelling & texturing.

I understand that you used AI upscaling on some assets, then touched them up manually (which shows, you've put some work into this alright!) and for the most part they're pretty good. I can see which ones are upscaled at a glance though - artifacts aside, AI models have no idea about seamlessness, so making them seamless after upscaling is nearly impossible with any UV mapped texture. The fire hydrant box is a good example of that.

Furthermore, unless you used a dedicated model to upscale maps with a Linear color-space (eg Roughness), then this'll throw the lighting calculation ever so slightly off since the RE Engine uses PBR which, in turn, will affect how raytracing bounces light.
I do applaud you on not upscaling the normal maps though. Those are way, way more complicated to upscale - though, there are models for it, you may want to try it out, I can hook you up with a workflow should you be interested in that.

I really hope this doesn't come across as patronizing because I also understand that not everybody's eyes are trained to see the most minute details and that the added sharpness is welcome for most people. People with a background in CGI are a different bred of nerds though and we tend to notice this type of things.

I'd love to use the mod for my next playthrough, but for me the AI upscaled assets are a bit of deal breaker. Would you perhaps consider releasing a version with only the assets pulled from other RE Engine games, as well as the ones that were redrawn or changed (eg the redrawn newspaper, STARS office corkboard's artworks...)?

I want to stress again that I really don't think this a huge issue that you "should fix" (quote unquote), but rather a minor annoyance for a very niche group of people. It would be relatively easy work to provide an option for said niche however, which is why I thought I'd ask and present an argument as to why I think this could be a nice little thing.

Have a good one - and no matter if you'll consider my request, this is worth an endorsement for sure. Cheers!

How much required VRAM to this textures?
Now I use RX7600(8GB) and texture quality option is 3GB, game is stopping for a moment sometimes when move rooms and autosave.
Especially, run toward darkroom from west office, RE2 has often freeze and shut down.

      I got RX7800XT.
But unfortunately RE2 crash on same location still though that has 16GB VRAM.
All other graphics option set more lower couldn't solve.
Because Radeon? Anybody there happen similar situation?
I must be walk through slowly that hallway for the time being even if Mr. X is chasing me.

can you make a version that doesn't modify the rpd board and the newspapers?
i dont like that the rpd board has random advertisements instead of police documents...
and i prefer the original headlines for the articles instead of the entire article but a different one.
