Play on the RTX version if you are getting weird bugs like randomly turning around and stuttering on the stairs (only some DX11 players get these)
Also everyone should give the default cam relative controls a chance, IMO they are really precise now and can weave you around zombies and through doors
cam relative is what I was using w/ D pad and B to run, it's just like playing the classic games.. I maneuver with ease... Thanks so much for this, really hope you tackle RE3 someday, would be a dream.
I have a bug with the Semi-Fixed Camara, where the transition between angles makes the camara go crazy for a few seconds... this does not happen with Fixed Camara, any clues what may be causing it?
hmm the mod seems to have a couple problems with running at high frame rate that I'm suddenly finally seeing, I'll fix them soon. You can set to 60fps to fix it for now, or not use semi fixed or running quick turn
Hey first I just wanted to say thank you for makin this mod and making my lifelong dream a reality. However I just could not with the controls. They the way were implemented just did not work for me. Again, thank you for making this, but the controls just ruined it for me. I know it's likely beyond your control but I just wanted to give you feedback on that. Sorry.
Since this mod stopped updating, so I decided to fix 3 main issues I have with keyboard and tank control.
1. After stop running (release W), press S quickly would result a quick turn and continue running, what I want is walking backwards. 2. After stop running (release W), press quick turn hotkey quickly would result continue running forwards, what I want is a quick turn. 3. When walking backwards (press and hold S), press running key (Shift) would make you turn and running towards the backwards direction, which makes you running while holding S (backwards key). My understand of true tank control is simple, forwards key only forwards and backwards key only backwards. What I did is making running key (Shift) does nothing while walking backwards (press and hold S).
Here is the fixed file, I only use tank control and keyboard, not tested with other modes and controller. https://sharemods.com/scmtt1g2gau0/ClassicCameras.lua.html
I have to post again to say, this mod has made leaps and bounds in progress since I made my initial post. You have refined the controls so much to the point I can happily play through the entire game now. I must commend you on a job well done! I do have a request though. I like to play using analog stick, but turning is very sensitive. I only have to hit left or right very slightly to cause my character to turn, so im constantly re-adjusting while moving forward. Is it possible to make turning only trigger when you move the stick to 10oclock and 2oclock?
Maybe if you have a bit of time, you could update your Nowhere Safe mod too? :P
I was having some trouble with the analog sensitivity myself. From my experience, this is the best setup that I could create:
In the mod menu, set running and walking controls to original. In the main menu of the game, go to camera and adjust the camera sensitivity (normal and aiming) to your liking. This alone should help a lot.
If you still want to fine tune the stick sensitivity, I would recommend making a new controller layout on Steam and trying a Stick Response Curve to your liking, or setting a Dead Zone to the stick.
Are you using a controller? If so, what control type are you using?
I use control Type C and with the mod set to Original running and walking. This way, the quick turn is mapped to trigger when you press back in the L stick + circle (or B). Also, check the "Camera" submenu in the main menu and adjust the camera sensitivity. It helps a lot, specially if you're noticing that the main character is taking too long (feeling heavy) to make turns.
Is this compatible with _ScriptCore or do I have to disable this to use it? Also, will you do this kind of mod for RE3R and perhaps Devil May Cry 5 to give it more of a Devil May Cry 1-4 camera style?
