Funny if random thing, according to RE: Outbreak, at least a few Patrol Officers in the RPD were given the Beretta 92FS as their weapon instead of the Browning Hi-Power that was standard. it was probably because of the CGI Cutscenes that this happened since in File 2 when you are in the RPD in Desperate Measures the handgun you find is a Hi-Power. so really it wouldn't be too out of place to say marvin had a beretta if the RPD was planning on phasing them out and were just getting around to it when the Raccoon City incident happened.
I still have no idea why a dead cop has a Glock 19 in RE3 Remake though (outside of that's the gun that Jill is seeing with in promo material so we need an explanation for it)
I know, I have that one tracked so I can use it when I get to playing RE3 remake on my PC. though here's a random question, can't you use the Unlockable Samurai Edge's Inventory text to replace the one for the Glock?
All that'd be needed to go along with this is to make Claire's default gun the Hi Power with cutscene support. Cause that lame little revolver isn't very attractive.
Could be done in theory but would require lots of workarounds.
Right now, the game has hardcoded to use the Revolver model during cutscenes; any edits on the model itself is also shown during those scenes. I could, potentialy, put either my Beretta or default Hi-Power on the Revolver model. All it'd need, is a 2nd mod to replace the revolver in the inventory, something like this but for both scenarios.
That's interesting, I wonder how that'd turn out replacing the revolver with the Hi-Power. It'd work find with the mod you'd link, at least the logic checks out but would definitely break the 1st run unless Claire's revolver was replaced by the JMP.
I see the issue, another potential issue is how it'd look in cutscenes. Holding revolvers looks different than handguns so I wonder if the Hi-Power would look off in cutscenes, clipping through her hand as such.
Maverick hasn't uploaded in a long time, but I do remember when he was active he'd always take requests and is a really friendly guy. If you message him on the RE modding board he might be willing to help.

Could you maybe add files that replace the Chris/Jill/Wesker Samurai Edges, perhaps? I'd love your version of the mod over Wesker's Samurai Edge
