This is a great tool. It's easier to use on Steam Deck, in particular, vs. Fluffy Mod Manager because it's built into REFramework. Although, I want to ask, does this mod manager have a way of converting non-rt mods to work with rt? There are a lot of good mods I wanna use, like Regina's outfit from Dino Crisis.
Incredible work, but unfortunately not 100% reliable for the mods I wanna rotate across play sessions. Sucks I'm still gonna have to use good old alt + f4
I'm just curious what is alt + f4. It's too bad this is a great mod but it definitely needs more work. And still want to say thank you to the author because he has done some awesome mods.
1. It's not so simple or even impossible to make it better(some stuff is cached by the game and some mods are made a certain way that makes it even more likely to happen. Earlier games like RE2/3 often never release some resources). 2. No incentive(there's no support and very little interest coming from the community. Best case I get criticism, but that's not a great motivator after spending dozens or hundreds of hours on a project willingly). Making trainers and mod managers is not exactly easy.
@Raz0rrrr I don't mean to disregard your efforts, it's a great time-saver if the mods you wanna use work properly. And I'm not asking for an update either, just leaving a comment to inform others that this is not a replacement for the mod manager, but an alternative tool.
I'm not saying you were asking for an update, I'm just stating the reasons why it might never get any better. Plus there's a lengthy readme where I do explain that it might not work that great in some cases(so not sure why you have to inform everyone again). What really prompted me to reply in the first place is another user's reply to your original post. So in a way this wasn't even directed at you.
Although It is a full replacement for me when it comes to file-only mods. Worst case I install a mod, then have to restart the game, which is the same thing when it comes to regular mod managers, but best case it just works. In games like RE4R/SF6 it works pretty much perfectly. RE3R is the worst-case scenario.
So you're out here releasing this and not making a trainer for RE4 Remake or updating older versions?! :P I jest. This is pretty damn impressive from a technical standpoint.
Edit: I guess I'm also a dunce. I checked your Patreon and not only did you release an RE4R trainer, you're actively working on an update for the RE2R trainer. Nice!
No offense but I liked the standalone versions better. They give you more control and options. They are great for recording videos. You can reload during cutscenes, etc without interupting the recording. The REframework versions are cumbersome. I tried using it for RE4 and suddenly I couldn't play RE3 anymore. I finally got my RE games to work again but I had to reinstall them.
This mod is excellent. Among other things, the great convenience of not having to close and open the game to load mods is great. I would like it to be possible to change the clothes of the mods, for example, like RE2, simply by changing the clothes from the menu, without having to load the game, but I suppose that is how the game should be configured. It is spectacular. Also support for DX12! Thank you!
