Hey guys, I just wanted to say here in early 2020 this still works. I'll give you guys a rundown on how to actually get this to work.
First, download the 4GB patch and Microsft Visual Studio. Then you will need to downgrade to version 1.06. Jjp7123 posted a link to youtube on how to get this to work, but in case you don't want to watch the video just do this. Closeout of steam completely, Right-click on your Steam shortcut on your desktop, click properties, and on the target line at the end, hit space and add -console and click OK.
Now when steam is opened up from that shortcut, there will be a console tab right next to your profile. Go to the Steam Console and type "download_depot 254700 254701 7608705427663292112"
Give this some time because it has to download the game all over again. Once it hits around 9.2GB, you should be good. Now you want to go replace the bio4 file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 4\Bin32 with the bio4 file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_254700\depot_254701\Bin32
This will completely erase the latest version of re4 and replace it with ver 1.06. Now use the 4GB patch on the bio4 file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Resident Evil 4\Bin32.
Now go ahead and download the trainer. Once you have the trainer installed, I recommend doing this so your game doesn't crash when starting or loading into a new game. Start a new game or load your game before opening the trainer. Once you load in, go ahead and ALT+TAB back to the desktop and open the trainer. Be sure to run as administrator. If it doesn't open when you hit run as administrator, just do it again and it should open up.
Congrats, it should be working now. This is an amazing mod tbh. Just a warning, this game tends to crash for me when I have too much stuff activated. So when you have everything turned on, just know it might crash the game. Save often. LMK if you have any questions. Thank you Raz0r for this amazing Trainer!
So I got the trainer working on my Steam installation (v 1.1.0), but not by using the instructions in the Sticky Locked Post. Those instructions broke my game installation for some reason, and I had to uninstall and reinstall. I followed them exactly, and have experience so it's not like anything was difficult.
But anyway, I found a Steam post where someone left a comment to a Google Drive Link that was just a .7z with the v 1.06 Bio4.exe file. I backed up my old file, replaced it with the v 1.06 Bio4.exe from the .7z (using WinRar), then loaded up my game through Steam and the trainer recognized it this time.
Using the 4GB Patch tool works as well. It was that simple. Please save yourself the trouble of going through the other downgrade process, and just download the v 1.06 Bio4.exe I linked.
EDIT: - Be sure to use the 4GB Patch tool on Bio4.exe and not on the trainer. And I now recommend using 7-zip over WinRar. - Also I backed up the file to my own Google Drive, just in case the original ever goes down. Download Link Here
Hey there Isspant! Yeah its totally fine and actually very common. Trainers and the like, have been flagged as "False Positives" in virus scanners since like the beginning of time. Its because they attach themselves to another process and basically directly inject code into the game files. While this is similar to how a virus operates (which is why its flagged), there is no malicious intent behind the coding of a trainer. As long as you have downloaded your file from a reputable source (like Nexus which does its own virus check for uploads), then you are safe. But you don't have to take my word for it, you can do some research on Google about Game Trainers and False Positives, and it may help to alleviate some of your worries.
Sorry JOSHcroom, I'm not sure about that. I think I only used Krauser in Mercenaries, but I don't remember having an issue with his dodge. Its been a while since I played. The RE4UHDTrainer.txt readme file, included with the download, doesn't mention anything about activating a dodge ability that I noticed.
Sorry GamerNinja5927, I can't say for sure. Normally the trainer stays open, but just doesn't detect the game is running if Bio4.exe isn't version 1.06. If your trainer itself is closing, then that's a different issue. Not sure what OS you have, but I would probably try Running the game and trainer As Administrator. Also make sure you don't have an Anti-virus program that could be interfering with the trainer.
The game version is 1.06 and whenever I open the trainer I open it as administrator. My OS is Windows 10 and I didn't even think an antivirus would be causing it so I'll check. Checked and my antivirus says there are no threats I reinstalled the trainer and didn't use the 4GB patch this time, which made it work.
Oh cool, glad you got it working. Not sure why the 4GB would cause that, since it was working for everyone else. The trainer itself may be less stable though. But... were you using the 4GB Patch on the Bio4.exe file or on the Trainer file? Because its suppose to be used on Bio4.exe. Using it on the trainer could've been the issue.
This will update the game's version to enable the use of the "Resident Evil 4 UHD Ultimate Trainer." Your data will be saved, so there's no need to worry! If you have any concerns about safety, feel free to run it through a virus scanner.

Remove ALL the re4 files and reinstall them. There shouldn't be a problem with the game
hello can someone help me i have a problem witch is that when i load up the trainer re4 just doesnt load uo if someone sees this in 2025 and has a solution pls tell me
can i use other weapons when i character swap because when i play with hunk i can only play with the custom TMP witch is in mercanarie and when i equip something like the handgun the game crashes if you can equip other weapons pls let me know.
Hey Jack i have same issue you have, but i fixed that. 1º download patch and repair the game files by steam app, u only need to replace the re4.exe 2º download re4.exe (v.1.0.6) the link fixed above 3º backup your 1.1.0 exe then copy exe v.1.0.6 to folder 4º go to steam.exe in programs folder and put steam.exe to run as administrator, exit steam, and login again 5º do the same with the trainer, put it as administrator 6º use the patch on v.1.0.6 re4.exe
Open the game 1st, then open trainer. by this way i think u can fix your problem also. Keep in mind, even everything working, using the trainer, the game crashes a lot, so save when u could to avoid loss of progress.
I managed to get it working again, I use this trainer only to play as Ada in Leon's campaign, but it crashes from time to time when changing weapons, and I found a trainer that is better than this one, as it allows me to change characters and use his weapons or any other character's, for example, playing as Ada and usin Krauser's or Hunk's weapons without crashing.
I've done everything i had to do but it seems the game doesn't like it when i have the tweaks mod installed with it got the 4gb patch got rid of 4gb patch got 1.0.6.. the old version of the trainer works but crashes after opening inventory a few times i even made the tweaks files xinput1_3 and the other one it still didn't work (crashes on launch) does this tweaks mod which is necessary for PC gameplay just not work with the trainer or am i doing it wrong?
Hi Louis, the tweek only improve graphics and fixes some issues of the game, u can run the game without it. the problem with the inventory is normal, because u need to know how to edit the inventory, recommend you to check some youtube videos before attemp it. Even with everything ok, the game crashes a lot, i save lots od times to avoid loose progress.
You're wrong. If you have crashes with the inventory while using both DLL's, be sure to set RaiseInventoryAlloc = False in the RE4 Tweaks .ini file. Introduction to the Companion DLL
Could there be a trainer that works for version 1.0.2? It's the only version I have and I don't want to go through extra steps just to get a trainer to work if that is possible.
