Will Ada's shotgun be a possibility in the future?

      Thanks for downloading!

I hadn't thought about tinkering with ADA's W870. I thought it was paid content that came with Separate Ways. However, after looking into it, I found that ADA's W870 is a file that comes with the free DLC Mercenaries, so it doesn't fall under the restrictions I have imposed on myself. You might want to try it.

However, ADA's W870 is somehow more realistic than Leon's, and the safety button and action bar lock are properly in the right place, so there doesn't seem to be much to tinker with. However, it would be nice to replace it with the HOGUE TAMER GRIP that I made for this MOD but found out I couldn't use it right away, or to add a long barrel variation or realistic markings. I can't do much, but it's not impossible. I can't start right away, but I might customize her W870 in the form of an update at some point.

What kind of customization do you want yourself? There's no guarantee that I can meet your requests, but please let me know your customization ideas as a reference.

Hey there! Awesome mod! Seeing the W-870 portraited more realisticaly and in its classic short tube version is amazing! But I got a question, will you make a "variations" mod to ALL base game weapons? Cause if yes, I would love to see what you'll do with the Riot Gun, maybe turn it into a Benelli M4 intead of a Benelli M3? Who knows!
Edit: Oh and also, have you considered making HUD icons for these variantions? I know its time consuming but it would be the cherry on the top!

      Thank you for the compliment.

I don't know if I'll make "Various variations" for all weapons. I'm basically a pistol lover. The "MORE REALISTIC" I made this time I tried to make the "W870" as close to the real thing as possible, but to be honest, I don't have enough experience to judge whether it's completed to the point where even crazy fans of the M870 can accept it. Currently, the plans I have in my head are "Killer 7 that is closer to the actual Hardballer", "SG09R closer to the OG Silver Ghost", and "A more realistic XM96A1 with a nice muzzle attachment". I'm actually in the middle of making a "Splinter Cell-style Five-Seven", but due to lack of design ability and consideration, I haven't been able to play around with it for a long time (lol)

It's not impossible to turn a riot gun into a Benelli M4, but it's difficult in many ways. There are too many things to tweak, and I'm not a big fan of the Benelli shotgun. If I had to make a variation of the riot gun, well, maybe I could try a variation equipped with a stockless pistol grip. Resident Evil 3 This is the one that appeared in OG.

By the way, there are already several excellent modders who are making Benelli M4. If you want to use M4, I recommend the following mod.
      https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil42023/mods/738
If you are not good with TTI guns like me, I recommend this one.
      https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil42023/mods/1599

Regarding HUD icons. I was not interested in this at all, but I felt that it would not be technically difficult, so I accessed the inside of the file. As expected, it was simply an image with icons of each firearm. It should not be difficult to edit this. However, tampering with elements related to HUD will result in loss of compatibility with other modders' works. I want people to play in various ways, so I try not to tamper with parts that are strongly related to compatibility with other mods.

Thank you for your comments and endorsements! I'm very happy!

I'm glad that my attempt to get closer to OG was well received! The firearms in REmake4 are closer to the real world, but there are very few that are faithful to the OG, and I wanted to recreate them while taking advantage of the art level of REmake4.

My next project is going to be FN HIGH POWER, so I'll put off creating the RE4 weapon variations, but I hope you'll look forward to it.

Hey, so long as we're making polite requests here, I was wondering if you'd ever do an SG-09 variations mod? I'm interested in that for one specific variation, ever since the game came out I've wanted to see an SG-09 that had the wood grips of the classic Silver Ghost, so if that's ever something you're interested in it'd be really awesome.

Agreed. Especially with the "realistic" variations as one of the game's flaw with the weaponry is the lack of IRL insignias and logo it has on the guns. Though I do understand that it's due to copyright issues but I think it would be a neat touch and an option to have on the other guns for this game!

I'm very happy that you endorsed me! Well, you did a lot of things I wanted as a MODDER. So I want to respond to your requests, but...

I'm interested in your proposal. I have previously considered creating a "USP9 custom: Silver Ghost" that combines the design of the SG-09R with that of the silver ghost. I'm no longer satisfied with a simple port from the OG or VR version. Looking at it now, the OG and VR versions of the Silver Ghost are very stylish designs, but they don't look like a USP at all. Leon S. Kennedy is a HK pistol user in my opinion. It would be very cool if I could create a "Silver Ghost" that is a realistic and thorough customization of the USP for him and hand it over to him.

I have been planning it in my head for a few months, but since I am not a designer, I don't know if I can create a cool design, and I don't know if my technical skills will keep up, so I don't think I have any plans to do it at the moment.

In the image I have in my head right now, there are quite a few changes to be made from the SG-09R, such as removing the Picatinny rail, beef up the slide (this is probably the most difficult part), implementing a grip panel (a USP with such a thing is in another dimension), and equipping a threaded barrel (probably the easiest part). Well, all I can say is that you should wait until I am sure...

      Thanks for downloading!

You want me to put accurate logos and markings on the SG-09R? All I can do is make an "homage" engraving, and it would be unethical to trace the actual engraving, but if you're okay with just developing engraving variations that "look similar," it probably wouldn't be that difficult. I almost always try to include markings in the "various variations" I make, so when it comes time to make a variation of the SG-09R, I might be able to fulfill about 50% of your request.

However, aside from the markings, the HK logo is a very well-designed piece, so it might be difficult to make an homage to it...

For this possible redesign of the SG-09, another modder called Snipzu once made this reskin of REmake 2's MUP that could probably serve as some inspiration for you. I actually tried contacting this modder to see if they'd be interested in porting it over to REmake 4 or at least telling me how to get started on doing it myself, but sadly I never got a response. But anyway, since you outlined that it might be a bit challenging to do, I'll just wait and see, but if you decide to do it I'd personally be really happy!

(Also, as a personal sidenote, I think it'd look cool if it kept the Picatinny rail, but it'd be your design so I'd defer to your judgement on this)

I'm in love with your mods however I do not understand where the "unethical" part comes from as seeing there are other mods from creators such as snivy101 that straight up gives their proper markings/engravings. Would you elaborate on that further? I'm interested to see your mindset on this considering that you're a modder and I don't think putting said proper engravings would get you copyrighted.

I'm glad you like my mod.
You showed your attention to the markings and engravings on firearms when I released my BLACKTAIL mod. Of course, I love real markings too. Good markings make a firearm look more beautiful. I especially love the cluttered warnings on STURM RUGER products. But that's not important.

in my country, it is basically impossible to own a real pistol, so there are toy guns on the market that reproduce the exterior and interior of the gun. These products rarely have real markings. In the past, there was a large-scale lawsuit in my country for using Pietro Beretta logos and markings. And nowadays, using real logos and markings without permission is particularly strictly restricted. I can understand the argument that "you are a modder, so copyrights shouldn't be an issue." We modders are basically In general, since I'm distributing my work for free, it's unlikely that I'll cause any damage to actual companies, and it's extremely rare for a gun mod to have that kind of influence. However, this is a kind of "belief" that I, a strange existence as a gun enthusiast living in Japan, believe in. It's impossible to explain it in an easy-to-understand way, and it's not the kind of thing that anyone can understand or explain. Anyway, when I "write the markings myself," I basically don't include the actual markings.

However, even though I'm talking big, there are mods that copy the markings of the real thing. These are the two I uploaded the other day, "HIGH POWER 2022" and "38 MASTER". These are mods that were completed by purchasing products from excellent designers. The designer who created the products wrote the markings of the real thing into the textures of these products. It would be a very simple task to erase these, but I chose not to do so because I wanted to "respect the intentions of the original author".

So, it's just a light rule. I don't have any lofty ideas about it, and I'm not forcing them on anyone. At this stage, there is no legal basis to say "Don't put real markings in MODs!" and I don't have any complaints about other modders using real markings as they are. So I don't get angry or point out things. Every modder has their own preferences, after all. I'd be very happy if you accepted my preference. I believe that firearm enthusiasts can become friends, even if they come from different countries or speak different languages.

By the way, I used toy guns as an example here, but if you look at toy guns from brands affiliated with UMAREX, you will see that even the actual engraving is copied from the real thing, but these seem to be licensed from the real gun manufacturers. It would be impossible for an individual to obtain a license from a gun manufacturer…

Can you do a version with a laser? All the weapons in the OG had laser modules. Also, can you do the Sentinel 9 over the SG-09R?

Oh now this is interesting! The only thing missing is a fix to the weirdly flat bolt and this would fix all the problems with the 870 model in this game (and REmake 2 for that matter)!

Thanks for downloading! I feel like I've seen you comment on gun-themed mods a lot. This is the first time you've commented on one of my mods.

I didn't notice it until you mentioned it, but the RE2 W870 bolt is definitely badly shaped. The distance between the bolt surface and the ejection port is like toygun, and I don't think there's a mechanism inside, and with the metal parts so tightly attached, it's bound to cause galling. Even though it's a manual pump action, it doesn't look like it will work smoothly (lol). The shape is also square like a Mossberg shotgun. Moreover, the ejection port is originally capsule-shaped, but the shape of the W870's port is too simple. As an aside, I think that Capcom's prop team used Tokyo Marui's M870 as a reference when modeling the W870. The bolts on the W870 look very similar to that product.

So I tried to see if I could fix the shape, and although it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to round the bolt itself, matching the ejection port cut to the actual M870 seems like it would be impossible to do easily, since there are no vertex around it, and if I create vertex poorly with a knife tool, the surroundings will collapse. It might be quicker to make the receiver and bolt from scratch. However, I'm already... tired. So, let me call it homework (lol)

Personally, if the shape of the bolt were made more cylindrical like the real 870's, I don't think changing the shape of the ejection port itself would be that necessary, though, of course, if it's something you care about doing then go for it! But the shape of the bolt is the bigger issue IMO.

And yeah, it's a bit baffling how they handled the 870 in REmake 2 and, by extension, this game, since it recycles the model. Most of the other guns in REmake 4 have incredibly detailed and accurate models and then you get to guns like the 870, the AR-15 carbine and the MP5 and it's just this weird mess.

I understand the idea that reusing things reduces costs and time spent on the whole project, but the three models you mentioned were pretty horrible. In my opinion, the modeling of Matilda was especially bad.

All of the models look good at first glance, but when you look closely, they are completely different from the art level of REmake 4, and I can't accept it. When I refinished Matilda to make it more realistic, it took me a month to complete the whole project (although my blender skills were even worse than they are now). Personally, I think that the Fiveseven, SL8, and the XD pistol, which even had its internal structure, are the most accurate replicas in RE4, but if they could make such realistic replicas, I wish they had improved them instead of simply reusing them. This is especially true since Capcom went to the trouble of updating the Benelli M3 Bolt to make it even more realistic.

Well... those improvements make modders fun, but they're a pain.
